Do you feel like religious people are unfairly judged? [Spirituality & Religion]

Many times, people put them all in the same category, based on what they see, hear, or experience. Not all are the same, though. I consider myself religious, but I don't think that I am better than anyone or that I know everything there is to know about the universe and we were created, if you get what I am saying. I hope we can keep this civil 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Jesus was crucified.

@Speedyman And what does this have to do with the question?
@BitterSweetPotato Only the select few deserve to be saved. Cause they have seen the truth.

@EarthlingWise Same story, in every religion, I guess. In Islam Quran says; "You are the best nation produced for mankind". Many Muslims feel proud to have been born as Muslims, and Arabs also have a special pride for being of the race of the prophet and have the language of the Quran. Every religion praises its followers and considers them to be the best of the best. Now I am not saying that all believers think of themselves as such, I am just saying that the religions they follow say so, and probably many will be influenced by it. But when I used to be a believer of religion, I've always realised that there are plenty of non Muslims who could be a lot better than me, and perhaps this was one of the conflicts I had with religion, when I couldn't get my head around the logic of only Muslims going to heaven. I've always tried to argue that my religion rewards good people regardless of their belief.
@BitterSweetPotato Since Jesus died for each individual, it's not about religions of the world. It's about our own personal decision to believe or not. Religion or not, Jesus didn't die for religions. He died for every individual on this earth.

@LadyGrace It is still what a specific religion says (i.e. Christianity), it claims that he died for each individual, and those who want to be saved, should follow that religion which makes this claim. It is not any different from other religions. All religions make claims and if you follow them, you are good, you are safe!

@LadyGrace BTW Quran says in various places how the prophet was sent to ALL people, and the word mankind is often used, one example; "(O Muhammad), We have sent you for no other reason but to be a mercy for mankind"- No religion would specify an audience. Every religion would generalize the message to address each every individual (spread as much as possible). And Christianity is no different; I mean Jesus dying for all humans does not make Christianity differently 'universal' in any way.
@BitterSweetPotato Yes, Jesus died for ALL the world. I never stated differently. As stated in John 3:16:

For God so loved the world (not religion) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Meaning, in heaven with Jesus and His Father.

This message is universal, to all. It's not about any distinction of people, race, or religion. Everyone is included. Jesus didn't die just for Muslims, Protestants, Catholics, Christians, Evangelicals, Jews, Presbyterians or any religious group. The bible makes it very clear that He died to save ALL mankind. Each individual, because following Jesus is an individual decision. Even Satan believes in God, but he's not going to heaven. It takes more than just believing. It takes commitment from the individual. Jesus was more than just a prophet. God's Word states that He is the Savior of the world. Appointed by God, himself, for that purpose, but Jesus wasn't forced to die for our sins. He volunteered.
@BitterSweetPotato
It is still what a specific religion says (i.e. Christianity), it claims that he died for each individual, and those who want to be saved, should follow that religion which makes this claim. What we say, comes from Jesus. It is Jesus that makes those claims in His Word. Religions of the world can claim anything, but can they back up their words? Not one of those religions died for our sins. Not one of those religions offer a way to heaven, but by good deeds, which Jesus AND His Father told us, one can never work or earn their way to heaven. He made it very clear that one is saved by grace through faith alone. Those are His Words. Not mine. And Jesus doesn't save people, then take that away, as you claim. He said so in His Word. If people think they're going to get to heaven by good works, they're going to be sadly disappointed when they die.

It is important to not only know what you believe, but why. We don't twist scripture to suit us. We don't make the rules. God does. And they are rules that are just and right, because He is perfect and incapable of lying.

And Roman's 8:1 states - "There is, therefore, now NO CONDEMNATION to them which are in Christ Jesus, who (choose to) walk not after the flesh (our old sinful, selfish ways), but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

Know your bible.

@LadyGrace And this is what I've been saying, that in every religious text; such as the bible or Quran, you will find messages directed to all people and mankind. Just because the prophet of Islam was sent to mankind, doesn't make his message something universal, but it still comes within the context of a religion called Islam. Same thing goes for the verses you've been quoting, they have also come within the context of a specific religion! The followers of this religion are called Christians. I fail to see anything different here.. Every religion claims to be for everyone, but only those who follow it will be saved, hence, it is not for everyone.

He was crucified for being the son of God and redeeming the world@BitterSweetPotato
BitterSweetPotato · 31-35, F
@Speedyman Umm, okay! If you say so!
@BitterSweetPotato He's right. At the height of his ministry and miracles, many Jews came to believe in Jesus as Messiah, the Son of God. Although he was innocent, Jewish leaders feared Jesus, because of his growing followers. They were afraid he would take leadership over the kings in that day. But that was not his intention. However, with the help of Judas Iscariot, Roman soldiers arrested Jesus and he was put on trial for claiming to be the king of the Jews. According to Roman law, the punishment for rebellion against the king was death by crucifixion.

Today, more and more Muslims are finding that Jesus was the Messiah, and are accepting Him as Savior, and testifying to that fact, online.

@LadyGrace It is true that many Muslims have been leaving Islam recently (I am one of them), but they aren't joining Christianity either 😂 I'd like to see some surveys here, of the more and more Muslims accepting Jesus. The thing is, any person who leaves one religion, they leave it for a reasons that are usually common amongst other religions, such as the lack of logic and the existence of immoral teachings. So it is unlikely after choosing to leave a religion, to go an join another.
@LadyGrace That's very good to hear that more and more Muslims are coming to Christ, nowadays 🙏.
@BitterSweetPotato How would you know they're not joining Christianity? You assume many things. Well, if they leave one group, they leave it to usually join another because their beliefs have changed. There's nothing unusual about that.
@latinbutterfly Yes. In fact, I've had the opportunity to witness it in this forum. Praise God for that. 🙏🏼
@BitterSweetPotato You are one of those who left the Muslim religion? Then why in your profile, do you profess to be an atheist?
BitterSweetPotato · 31-35, F
@LadyGrace
How would you know they're not joining Christianity?
The same way you knew that they were joining Christianity? lol At least I have some credibility being one of those who left Islam, living in that society, and getting exposure to local news and stories. I personally have so many friends who used to be Muslims and are now atheists or agnostic. No my friends are not representative of the whole, it is not what I am saying, but the issue of atheism spreading in the Muslim or Arab world following the so called Arab spring has been discussed locally on our news so many times, so yea, they aren't really converting to another religion. :D
