The reason for Christmas [Spirituality & Religion]

LadyGrace Best Comment
I love this. Spot on! Thank you, Jesus!

I thought the reason was that God had sex with Mary without telling her
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@LeopoldBloom never heard of that before
@Nomad7 Even this earthly man knows Jesus is the real reason for the season.

@fairefoutre @TheWildEcho "In Christian theology, the Immaculate Conception is the conception of the Virgin Mary free from original sin by virtue of the merits of her son Jesus. The Catholic Church teaches that God acted upon Mary in the first moment of her conception, keeping her "immaculate".

The Immaculate Conception is commonly confused with the virgin birth of Jesus, the latter saying that Jesus was conceived and born by his mother Mary without a human father. While many Christians believe in the virgin birth of Jesus, it is principally Roman Catholics, along with various other Christian denominations, who believe in the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception."

Brilliant and very true
I have gotten to the place where I am frustrated the the "season" beginning before October is even done with.
Very nice continent.
"The Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world."

There's about as much proof that Jesus was born on December 25th as Jesus coming back to life and turning into a bunny that delivers eggs ...just enjoy the holidays for what it is ..spending quality time with family and good friends baking cookies and shit ...
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Nah,it’s about money. Also it’s based on a pagan holiday.
@fairefoutre In the US, Christmas is mostly an excuse to buy a bunch of useless crap, and has been for some time.

@MrBrownstone reasons ARE reasons to get together, to bring people together inspite of distance and heated arguments from the last... to acknowledge our ancestors worked hard to get us here ... and would want us to be civil— better yet kind and loving. So get silly and use all these decorations to remind yourselves you’re goi g to make it thru the winter! Here something you can fiddle with during that time!oh and let’s skip negative and replace it with positive

Actually that's the reason for easter, not Christmas.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@ThePerfectUsername no Easter represents Jesus resurrection
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@ThePerfectUsername the two are so closely connected

@Harriet03 There is just something wrong with putting Easter and Christmas together...both of which were taken over by Christians. It not only darkens the spirit of the Christmas season (he was born to die), but it skips all else in between (teaching, examples, influences) they claim to believe in. Great reply by the way.
