Just to clear up confusion here: atheists don't believe in ANY Gods or have a religion. [Spirituality & Religion]

I heard this from people and I want to correct them. Refer Google if you don't believe me.
Sadly when you take religion vs atheism to it's extreme it becomes a life or death issue. The religious literally think they are saving people from death. And the atheists think they are saving the religious from lies. The religious have more fervor because they have more on the line really.
@zerofuks2give Yeah that's the way I was trying to put it. lol
@JBird I like this qoute that I came across.

ok...... whys this news
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
Yeah I think it’s more of a celebration and acceptance of carnal desires more than anything@JBird
@NiftyWhite
atheists: don’t believe in anything. nothing nada zero.
Just as a matter of clarification: atheists can believe in a whole host of things including the paranormal or supernatural. The only thing that makes you an atheist is that you disbelieve or lack belief that a god or gods exist.

i get it!! I know what an atheist is! @Pikachu i was speaking in the context of religion and faith
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
I tend to be more agnostic. I think it’s extremely arrogant to assume that our tiny brains can even begin to know the secrets of the universe. Although I do think most religions are an absolute joke.

@zerofuks2give true. I am agnostic too with a bit of atheism. But don't tell that around. I unintentionally offended a Hindu guy when I told him I am an agnostic.

And even here, on this simple thread, people continue to confuse religion with a belief in a particular worldview sans mythological deities
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
Science 🙌
JBird · F
@Harriet03 unfortunately that's what other people think too.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@JBird Science has destroyed nearly all of religions claims!!
Well let's be fair: This really isn't an issue for most theists. To my knowledge there's only one fundy christian on here who insists that atheists believe in some kind of god and so are not really atheists.
dudutsss · 26-30, M
That is true. They don't believe in ANY Gods nor have any religion.
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
I’m pretty sure you can still have a religion, you just can’t believe in deities
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@JBird I’m not very familiar with Buddhism, who are their gods? There is also something called secular Buddhism
JBird · F
@zerofuks2give I am not sure exactly. I read from Wikipedia that they have GOd but they don't treat them as creators and the Gods keep changing.

zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
I didn’t find anything either@JBird
Success · 26-30, F
So, by correcting that statement you're saying that atheists CAN believe in god(s) and CAN have religion? Seems you're adding confusion rather than removing it.
JBird · F
@Success no, I don't but there are people who believe what you just said.
Success · 26-30, F
@JBird Quotation marks would help here.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
To be fair, some atheists treat atheism as a religion. I am one and have seen it, they like to preach the non existance of gods.
JBird · F
@FreeSpirit1 to be fair, that's not how a religion works either if it involves rejecting existence of God. That might be a propoganda if you may say.
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
I think what this discussion really boils down to is how you define religion. Whether it is simply a system of beliefs or a belief in God’s and deities.
Nobody cares. More important stuff to worry about.

ITS NOT IMPORTANT.

Why are some (albeit few) atheists who are militant about being an atheist.
Simple concept, yet still manages to elude some people. 🤭
