@Ramblingrose Well...just last week outside my local supermarket there was a manic street preacher with a sound system boosting his shouting so the whole neighborhood had no choice but to listen to his ranting. And ranting he was. When he got tired (or ran out of things to shout) a woman took over the ranting.
Granted, that is not common but it did happen just last week.

@JBird Religion is a troublesome darn thing isn't it ? I've also read about violence in India between Muslims and Hindus.

And that is all because some humans claim to speak on behalf of their god.

@Wraithorn well, don't know what your stance is on yehova's witness. But if they aren't diverse today... in my opinion, it's great if it stays that way, and even melts away over time. 🙄

@Wraithorn Yes. I was surprised as well.
This happened in a hospital; she was a patient there. She told me she and her family were JWs, but personally, it was also insensitive of her to keep me 20 min. with her incessant talking about stuff and stuff I'm convinced are delusions. It was insensitive because I had brought a sick person who needed my attention.
Otherwise, she was a good person, and I also met her son.

So, for future reference: Just 'Hello', 'Have a nice day' to every JW there is.
PERIOD.

@PuppetOnStrings I've learned to not use that word on SW because it offends Black Americans. Although here in S.Africa it is used all the time with no offense intented.

@PuppetOnStrings No worries. I actually asked a question about the word "coloured" a while back and received a bit of an education about it in connection with American history. It's a good example of how the same word in different countries has different connotations depending on history.
