Isn't God's grace amazing [Spirituality & Religion]

The thief was mocking Jesus just a few hours earlier

Amen to this beautiful post, brother!! Well done! And even when Jesus hung on the cross, nailed to it by His enemies, He asked the Father to forgive them, "for they know not what they do!" Not ONE of us could have done that, and called them His friends!

@LadyGrace "Truly I say to you today you will be with me in paradise "
One of my favourite verses in the bible!
@TheWildEcho Yes. Today!! That's the beauty of God's grace. The thief was accepted right on the spot! He didn't have to get right first. The blood of Jesus made him righteous in God's eyes.

Do you find Ebola amazing? Ever had some of that Ebola grace? Or slavery? Do you find slavery pretty great?

Here's the thing. Why does an all powerful being create beings, give them rules, create them in a way in which they'll break their rules, then send himself in the form of one of these beings to then be tortured to death by these being, simply to change the very rules he came up with in the first place?

"He died for our sins!' and all of that. Well, The all powerful being created the rules of what defined sin, then created us to be able to sin only to punish us for sinning, atleast in the beginning of the book. Then later he does what I mentioned above to change the rules, which he could have changed himself since he is all powerful, and then he asks us to be thankful for it? But why? What's the point?

And Noah's flood? He created human beings. He is all knowing. Therefore he knew we were going to turn out bad and that he was going to have to kill most of us in a flood. So if he knew all of that before he did it, then why did he do it at all?

@Allelse I did answer it. I understand that life sucks but that is NOT Gods fault. That is because people are selfish and that is why Jesus came to save us miserable people. You don't have to believe in Him. It is your choice. But if you want your prayers answered and go to heaven, and have your kids blessed for a thousand generations, I am just letting you know what God said in the Bible. Have a nice evening!

@Allelse carazaa has answered your question
I don't want to debate with someone who uses offensive racist words, you have a serious problem!

You need to turn to God for forgiveness, He will give your life a whole new purpose and meaning

If God was as good as you (believers) say, he'd forgive everyone, even those who don't believe in him.
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@AnonymousJSS because Jesus is the only one who rose from the dead, and was seen by 500 people at the same time, some of whom went on to be martyred for their beliefs, would they have ben martyred if they hadn't seen Him alive NO!
I would encourage you to examine Christianity closely, it would make more sense than you trotting out with it being a fairy story?
AnonymousJSS · 22-25, F
@TheWildEcho I was Catholic for years- I also went to church for years. Trust me, being so close to my religion is what MADE me an atheist.

Yeah, sure... 500 witnesses, but what makes everyone so sure he was a God? 500 witnesses, says who? So many other people say their God is real, and they also provide ridiculous "evidence"; what makes you so sure your evidence is factual?
Carazaa · F
@AnonymousJSS Says who? They did, who were willing to die for their testimony and were stoned to death. Like Stephen and others. You don't get stoned to death for nothing. This is one reason Their testimony live on. Those "crazy" Christians were killed because they refuse to deny what they saw. There is plenty of proof the apostles lived. Some were thrown to the lions in the Rome's Coloseum. You can go there today to Rome and they will tell you how they were killed there. I've been there. They have tours. You go to Jerusalem and they have tours there too.
As I keep saying..
all these so called god bashing atheists will become believers when death is knocking

What is more amazing is a thief was being executed. What did he steal? Yeah no this is feel good crap designed to misdirect the injustice of being executed for a petty crime.

@MasterLee 🤗
Carazaa · F
@MasterLee you say the nicest things 😊
Carazaa · F
@MasterLee at least someone is praising me today and saying I do something nice!
That is why "Come Thou Fount" is my favorite hymn!

But... Jesus knew the thief had a repentant heart! ❤️

@SW-User I am not arguing with you. I love you for what you said and I know it is right. I read a book by Andrew Murray called Absolute Surrender and it says much the same. All I am saying is that I yet struggle with my flesh and it causes me to doubt that I belong to Him. But Andrew Murray also said "God is more interested in giving revival than we are in praying for it" So, I am praying for my own personal revival. That is all I know to do.

@NewBecky I know you’re not hun...

@NewBecky just trying to help... @NewBecky the apostle Paul said, when I would do good, evil was ever present before me... my friend we will be tempted and there’s no stopping that... but the devil has no power over the child of God... we choose... we are no longer held captive by his chains...
Budwick · 70-79, M
All true!
Our Lord and Savior is truly amazing indeed.
NewBecky · 51-55, F
Thank you, I needed that

@NewBecky It’s true... grace is the gift of God! Can’t buy it and no good work on the earth can obtain it! Justified simply means just as if I’d never sinned... but Jesus always said, go and sin no more! The devil tries to make people think they are still in bondage... but he’s a liar and the father of lies...
Carazaa · F
@NewBecky I will pray for you. We all have our crosses to bare but God is moving in your heart and that is beautiful. God forgives all sin, but he will answer your prayers faster if you don't sin!that helps me a lot to stay on the straight and narrow!

He is so good, praise God!

@Harriet03 Same with science! But science changes all the time. I will trust in God. There is my hope!
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@Carazaa Science has evidence for things it claims to know. That's the big difference.
Enjoy your day ✌
Carazaa · F
@Harriet03 You have a nice day too!🌻

That would require God to exist, but hey, whatever gets you through the night.

@LeopoldBloom I would not divorce that person God is against divorce! I'm afraid you don't know God at all. He is Holy and not a man!
NewBecky · 51-55, F
@LeopoldBloom Actually, He did. When He died on the cross it was payment for ALL sin. People are not condemned for their sin. They are condemned for their disbelief. People are really rejecting God even after He died for them. God is the source of life and if people continue to reject Him then He will give them what they wish for. Hell is the absence of God. I believe it is fire because God holds all things together but without Him, atoms split and the fury is Hell. But, according to the Bible, your sin is forgiven.
