Why is it acceptable to join a religion that was created by a single man? [Spirituality & Religion]

For example, King Henry created the Church of England. How do we know if God approves this religion? How do we know that any religion is approved? Why is it acceptable for religions to evolve? Various religions have changed over time due to cultural pressures. How do we know these changes are “authorized”? (Don’t get me wrong it’s a good thing that religions evolve)
Jesus was against some of the religious leaders of his time. In fact, he rebuked them and called them hypocrites because they would stand out in public places, put ashes on their face and make all kinds of contorted faces when they prayed outloud for all to notice, in order to appear to be so holy, dedicated, and intense about following God. He is not worried about religious groups or what denomination we might belong to. He's more concerned about what is in our hearts and whom we serve.

Why is there often contempt for those who question religion? If humans were given the gift of intelligence and the freedom of choice, why should they be punished for using it? Why is there continuous conflict between different religions, and between those who believe, and those who don’t? How can anyone know if they are correct?

@TheHealthyWorld Good points there

Religions are a code of conduct for the normal human being. We all have different code of conducts.

I am living in a green area so eating meat or killing an animal to have my food is not recommended.

If I go and live in a desert or freezing environment, where there are no plants, I would have to kill animals for food and that's what the religion allows (Islam and Christianity) but Islam does it bit properly. It says "Look directly into the eyes of animal before killing it and feel the circumstances with which it is going through at the moment"

Likewise the circumcision is a basic in Islam because the religion originally evolved in a desert where there was no water. So, if you don't take bath for a week or so, it would give rise to bacteria so they circumcise.

@TheOrionbeltseeker Wow. Good info. Thank you
I’m part of Henry’s mob.. we only exist because Rome would grant him a divorce.. then over night we got the arch bishop of Canterbury

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Yeah Henry wanted a divorce and he wanted to steal the Church's property. He was broke at the time.

Considering how many wives he beheaded, I'm sure the money was more important to him than the divorce.

I still wonder about the calendar change, like they moved all holidays back by 13 days. Like is that even allowed? Also now apparently according to the catholic church it's ok to cremate. Why would anyone have the authority to make these changes?

@Dan193 Oh really? Maybe . Where is she from?

@suchaslife Don't worry, she would've instantly recognized me.✌️

Most of us are born in a religion but never get to join a religion. What the religion offers is more important than how it got created. But a true democracy is when people can create their own religion and live by it. As a matter of fact none of the religions are registered or authorised .. and just operate as hegemony, as democracy was born after religions.

Or Joseph Smith who started the Mormon Church. Only to be ousted for using witch craft. Pretty creepy stuff

@suchaslife I was a Mormon, so I know :)

@SW-User I have good friends in a Mormon church and have attended their service. Wow. You're not anymore?

religion is a toxic mental illness, that spawns so much abuse and suffering

@suchaslife religions infect people
thus like ebola, the disease destroys those that have it

@Dshhh Interesting outlook 🤔
TheHealthyWorld · 36-40, M
@Dshhh That almost hurt my feelings

I suppose we don't - all religions as far as I cant tell mean taking certain things on faith.

I'd have cut the question off at why is it acceptable to join a religion.
