What we are witnessing today, is what this world looks like WITHOUT God stepping in. It's a spiritual mirror and reminder, reflecting just how wicked this world and mankind is, exactly who caused it, and just WHY WE NEED HIM. That is why He's allowing it. He knows that our time here is very short, and He wants us to see the Light, and have our sins forgiven, so no one will miss heaven or stay separated from God the Father, but some people are too prideful and stubborn to accept that. That is why He is delaying His return. He is not willing that ANY should perish. John 3:16 ... If one tells God he doesn't need Him or want Him, He will honor that choice, though the choice was wrong. It's exactly as that person wanted it.

@SimplyTracie Sometimes I'm not sure what i think. But since you asked, I think that provided you don't consciously reject God - you go to Heaven.

There will always be suffering, to live is to experience that in some forms or another. The level of poverty will and is getting better mostly, though relative poverty might be around for a long while.
As for the other part it's likely lack of purpose and meaning.
