Not as a promoter but just a retailer.

Interesting you should ask. I was looking at joining a Wesleyan congregation and would have had to sign a contract promising not to consume alcohol or tobacco or traffic in the above. Academic right now, but what if something happened and I had to pump gas to make ends meet? I would certainly resist such employment, but I would not sign such an oath

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP That would be tough. But if you worked in a library you'd be handling occult books, and if you worked in a toy store you'd have to sell ouija boards and magic books.
@purplepen actually, I'd probably draw the line at selling ouija boards. After all, I drew the line at working for a porn shop when I realized what I was being interviewed for. But Jesus accepts me for much less of an oath, so I wouldn't sign such an oath, and just use my own judgment going forward

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP Yes. I'd draw the line at those things too.

@RodneyTrotter A pastor was shocked about it sometime ago. Some of the traditional Christians don't gamble or smoke, but if their job requires them to sell lottery tickets or cigarettes I think it's a bit different.
