Confucious said "Do not do unto others that which you would not have done to you" and Jesus took that morale up a level to the positive, which is "DO unto other what you WOULD have done to you". Another quote of Jesus is "I am the way, the truth, and the life". What's interesting to me, is that "tao" meant "the way" and there's actually a quote in the tao te cheng which says "the tao, the truth, and the life". It's also interesting how the philosophies on the old testament put a lot of emphasis on prudence, while Jesus taught much of living in the present and not worrying about tomorrow, going as far as saying that the heathen worry about where they will eat and drink, while the righteous do not. I <3 Jesus, do you think he went to China?

the whole jesus mysticism is a collection of other religions. the birth virgin birth story foreshadowed by a star and 3 kings showing up can be found word by word in egyptian, persian and indian mythology of that time

It doesn't have to be an individual who receives wisdom. It can be passed through whole communities over hundreds of years. Most religions have common themes and things borrowed. Just like Hollywood keeps making the same films over and over.
