Evolution: is it necessary to know how life ultimately began in order to study and debate the evidence that evolution has since occurred? [Spirituality & Religion]

If you think it is, why do you think so? Can you explain that reasoning for me?

I ask because i've encountered a creationist's position that the evidence for evolution can be ignored if we don't know how life began.
I point out that the theory of gravitation still allows us to study the interactions of matter without knowing how it came to be but this apt comparison appears to be ignored.

Since i've received no explanation from the parties involved, i'm coming to YOU!
So. Thoughts?馃檪

Of course not. We can see how things change without necessarily knowing their origin.

But for the thing to work you've got to know how it started. That is logic which you are short of@Sharon

@Speedyman Its a quest to find answers. Many we will found and many we don't. I doubt that we will ever be find answer to that factually. Having said that, reverse studying the earth past may give us clues to have a profound understanding in many matters. Evolution is a fact as far, we understanding at this point of findings.

At the every same notes, I really liked some questions creationist ask regarding life form on earth. Specially, conversion of specie to another with remarkably difference traits. That needs more research

@Speedyman We don't need to know how something started to observe what it's currently doing. When I see a car traveling along the road, I don't need to know how the engine was started to see it moving. Maybe you do.

lol don't think for one second that speedy doesn't know that.
It's just that if he concedes that point then he's lost what he thinks is his get out of jail free card for having to debate the evidence.

lol cute strawman, brah!
Of course something has to start in order for it to be working.
No on is denying that. No one is short on that logic.
It's just been pointed out to you that logically, you don't need to know how something began in order to observe the way it works.

You have no comeback for that.
You simply don't.

And that's a fact.

But if you're going to work at the theories of cars it is a good idea to know how they start@Sharon

Your problem is you are short on logic on anything. You have made no logical statement to advance your course and you are struck out on everything . Too bad little friend you are an intellectual wilderness 馃槃馃槃馃槃@Pikachu

@Speedyman I still don't need to know how a car was started in order to see it moving.
