Do you think that bible is to heavy for human beings to master ? [Spirituality & Religion]

One shall never master it. We could read the Bible every day for our entire life and still not know everything. It is a spiritual well, that never runs dry. A wealth of information and wisdom.

The sex stories are hilarious. I could do without the genocide. I like the talking animals.

What helped me was back on EP I made friends with someone from India, he was a Hindi. He explained a lot of things about his religion. I could see parallels. Many will disagree with me but that's ok. Each path is different for each one of us. The suggestion to read the gospel of Thomas is a good suggestion.

The bible just REEKS of humanity. The reasons humans can't master it is not because it's too heavy, it's because it's violent, hypocritical and inconsistent.

You know, like a book made up of writings from a bunch of unenlightened cultures and traditions would necessarily be.

If I tell you the truth you won't believe. Read the gospel of Thomas if you want knowledge.

I can say as a failed Christian, that I always had a hard time finding people help me put Christian teachings into context and practice. That was hard. I'd ask about the deeper meanings of teachings, or how to put them into practice-- and just get the same answers again and again. Or be told it doesn't matter. Be saved, be happy. Or to not ask any of these questions. Which was never enough for me. That was stressful.

It's got interesting stories for sure.
