So you think that modern church goers are the antithesis of what is portrayed in Acts? You must be young, despite not showing your age, to use that slang.

@CoffeeFirst actually I happen to agree with what he posted.

@SW-User I am trying to understand the opinion behind what he posted though. It can be said in one simple sentence.
SW-User
@CoffeeFirst ok, give us the sentence. I'm open to hearing it.

I think looking at a passage like that, line by line can help us focus on the author's intent.

So rather than paraphrasing, which even some of that above is, by looking at the the original source we get a better sense of what the early church was like.

I think it would be quite difficult to say all that in one sentence. But, I respect your view and would like to hear it.

@SW-User I do not have that sentence. The OP has it in his head. Well, he didn't write it so I'm going to say that a good writer should have that summary in his head. I think his last 4 posts can be boiled down into one (long) thesis sentence. I have no opinion on the content because it doesn't interest me that much. If you want to read the rest of the post, look at the last 3 posts of his to get the entire article.

If the gist is that we should return to the ways of the early church in spirit, then that's cool.

Thank you for being kind about this. I didn't intend to sound bitchy originally. But I come off that way at times.

@CoffeeFirst oh you're fine. :) I love dialogue like this. I hope you have a wonderful day!

@CoffeeFirst I believe that was the gist of this article, that we return to the spirit and practice of the original assembly.
