Why don't you believe that Jesus rose from the dead? [Spirituality & Religion]

Because you know, as did most of the people of his time, that this is impossible?

Because his devastated and disappointed followers, who were cowering in fear after the execution, did not suddenly get inspiration to go to the ends of the earth (risking and giving up their lives) to proclaim that he did indeed rise from the dead?

I totally believe He rose from the dead

Because there's no corroborating source for the claim. Just a legend in a holy book.
You'd think something like that might have made it into some contemporary histories. OR the zombies rising from their graves and entering jerusalem afterwards.

🤔
I'm waiting for the easter bunny, tooth fairy and santa clause
@mrmoose So do you believe he was just made up? Never existed?

This all took place at a specific time and place. And it is one of the most well-documented events in the annals of history.

This is not any kind of argument. Just the logical fallacy of appealing to ridicule.

Because the date is different each year.
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@MrBrownstone so if the date was the same you would believe?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@TheWildEcho It would help.
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@MrBrownstone yes I agree
midnightsun · 26-30, M
Because I ain't Christian and I don't care about Jesus

@beckychandler Maybe he was just in a coma.
@MrBrownstone That is one of the ways that some skeptics have tried to get around the rather compelling documentary reports that he was as dead as a door-nail.

Dan Brown latched onto one of these in The DaVinci Code --recovered, married Mary Magdalene, they sailed to Southern France and founded a dynasty.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@beckychandler Reports can be wrong.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.
@QuixoticSoul The eyewitness testimonies were recorded, as well as the actions of those witnesses. It is one of those most documented events in history.

It changed history ( why we date time from the birth of this man).
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@beckychandler Eyewitness testimony is generally regarded as the worst and least reliable form of evidence, because people are terribly unreliable. On top of that, most of what are supposed to be eyewitness reports were recorded decades after Jesus’s death, and anonymously to boot.

It is not even remotely one of the most documented events in history, it’s not even high in the list.

Posthumously, Jesus was a spectacularly successful cult leader, I don’t think anyone would try to dispute that.
Because that is religious bullshit.
@Underconstruction My what an intelligent response!!
@beckychandler You asked , I answered.

Don´t like my comment ? Oh well...

@RippinKlouds The modern state of science has not really added anything. Most people of the time believed it impossible --that is what gave the compelling reports of the event such power.
