Do you believe there is a God? 🙏 [Spirituality & Religion]

JT123 · M Best Comment
Absolutely! This perfectly balanced life we see surely didn't happen by accident! Everything from bacteria to Humans have a very important job in this world. Only a God could create such balance!
@JT123

It's not perfectly balanced though. That's why there have been extinction events throughout our history. That's why humans are destroying the ecosystems of the planet. We're doing what literally every species does when it gets the chance: exploiting available resources to the maximum.
Ever heard the term "invasive species"? It describes a species which enters an environment and by definition is NOT balanced and it destroys the native ecosystem.

Long before you were born I was helping my father on the farm. It was a warm summer day and I spent the entire day driving the old tractor round and round the field. I always liked to drive the tractor. It gave me time to think. I had recently begun to question my atheism. Somehow it didn't make sense anymore. I don't know what it was but there was a drabness over me. Just a mild funk The sun was bright the weather warm. The wind was just strong enough to keep the mosquitoes but I was not content. I had driven tractor for years and this was the first time I felt this way. Hours later the sun was sinking low in the west and I still was not myself. I shut the tractor off and went for a walk trying to shake my funk. I crossed the barbwire fence and was soon on some native prairie wool. The fresh smell of the grass didn't help. I turned and looked at my foot prints squinting into the setting sun. A little white stone peeked out at me from the grass and I walked over to it. I have no idea why but I knelt by that little white rock and in that moment my mind was opened. i whispered the words "Jesus forgive me". Immediately the funk was lifted the world looked and sounded different. I lept to my feet and began to run. A mile later without breaking a sweat I burst through the door of the old farm house. My mother was concerned. My wife was concerned. I phoned an old pastor that I didn't know from a church I never attended. He asked me and my wife to come visit him. We did and he explained that in that moment by the rock I had been born again. He took me to the nearby creek and in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit he baptized me immersing me in the murky water. I had become a Christian and I KNEW that God was real because at that little white rock I had met Him.

If you believe that there is one god then you would have to believe that there must be others.

@Dainbramadge that is my faith. That there is one God the Father Almighty creator of heaven and earth. And there have been visitations by the mother of Jesus Christ thought the time from the birth of Christ. The last confirmed one I'm aware of happened in the early 1900s in Portugal. The last living child of that visitation died in 2005. Investigate it. Lol up Our Lady of Fatima. Or Our Lady of Guadeloupe. There are some interesting facts you'll find hard to dismiss.

@kentex35 Now don't get me wrong. I'm not in any way, shape or form implying I have anything against your faith. I am just wondering why there could be only one all knowing, all seeing being and not more?
Now in the King James Bible, Exodus 20.4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below". To me, this sounds like God is admitting that there are other Gods and in Exodus 20.5, God also says he is a jealous God. I don't want to interpret for you but to me that is what is meant here.

@Dainbramadge good answer. No offense taken. I don't believe there's a sun god and a Neptune, Ares etc. But I like to say/ think religions are like fingers on a hand. Different but all going the same place. But I don't include pluarism. Some philosophers contend religion canny about when there were no police or sheriffs posse and so people came up with this reward or terrible after life if you don't behave now. Three bible or Torah Koran..i can only speak of the bible is a history book centered on religion. There's no one that Can tell you how God is or what he's thinking because he's a god ,we're still evolving. Like a ring God is, no beginning no end. I argued with a nun once during religion class (catholic school) that God needs us. She was ready to duck lightening bolts. My argument being he was lonely and created us for company. Her side was the all powerful needed nothing. There's a weekly catholic newspaper "the record" and that very Sunday that edition had a half page article titled"God needs us".
Long winded huh

I believe in like an intelligent energy consciousness that i'd call "god" but I think it's part of us and everything.
Yes. Not one doubt.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
I most certainly do and have a personal relationship with Him as my Father in Heaven.

No, his/her followers are not a credit to his/her name.

God is your human imagination
indyjoe · 56-60, M
I do believe there is someone/something there and I refer to it as "God"...but I do not believe it is the God of the bible or any other religion for that matter which to me are creations of human imagination and fantasy (which is why they don't make a lot of sense).

Of course not

I am ok with the notion god might exist.

The Abrahamic religions seem a bit far fetched to me. I’m not big on the concept of “prophets.” Nature seems to be God’s word.

Nah. And certainly not an infallible one.
There are too many mistakes in "creation" to think that any designer was all that intelligent lol
Cantsayno · 56-60, M
I believe there is something else from here. I’m just not sure what it maybe
