Is there anyone here who respects Kent Hovind as a rational debater and an honest representation of the faith? [Spirituality & Religion]

newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
Isn't he some film-flam merchant from many decades ago? He was peddling religious merchandise for a while, yes? Then he went to prison for tax theft or something.
@newjaninev2

Yeah he's a young earth creationist that even many other young earth creationists look down on for the way he behaves.
And yes, he was dodging taxes and went to jail.

Which is why it's always so funny to hear him complain about his tax dollars paying for evolution to be taught in public schools lol

@Pikachu A hypocritical creationist? Gasp! Who'da thunk it?

I think he used to be better. It's starting to get away from him.

He now often tries to get out of the corner he thinks he's being backed into when the question was actually going somewhere else.
It exposes his reliance on his scripted answers.

@Pikachu But his son is taking over the family business, I think. Nothing like keeping it in the family.

I prefer not to say negative comments about anyone, however many people are not Christians just because they say they are. You shall know them by their "love."

We are living in a world right now that has more divorces, affairs, people have lost houses, jobs, families, etc. so there are many who think that this is evident that there is a big conspiracy and they start "groups" to feel safe. I feel for them, and pray for them. I think we don't live in a kind world. Jesus talked a lot about this. (Not about this group ha, ha,) but about men's hearts growing cold, and false beliefs in the last generation. It is a sign of our times.
@Carazaa

Well i'm not assuming my statements are true. I judge them to be true based on my understanding of the data.
But you're right. If you input bad data then you're not going to get a good result out of it.
So if you can find legitimate sources which refute the fact that organisms are stratified in the fossil record then of course you should bring that to my attention and we can discuss it further.

You go to work and have a think.
My question will be here when you feel prepared to address it🙂👍

You think you're so cool with all your answers, but I will pray and see what insights God will give me.
@Carazaa
You think you're so cool with all your answers
Um...not really sure what to say to that. I do try to organize my responses clearly and logically, if that's what you mean.

Pray it up!👍
I'll be here🙂

Because he's an ignorant, dishonest con man.

He's not even respected by other theists who share his philosophical position.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
There sure is.
@CookieLuvsBunny

Seems unlikely. But i think some creationists will hold that he had all the "kinds" , whatever that means, so it wasn't necessary to have all the species there.
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@Pikachu
I don't know what "kind" is.
That would be admitting evolutionary adaptation
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Pikachu @CookieLuvsBunny The creationist definition of kind varies. It can mean species, genera or class, depending on what questions are asked. Psuedo science at its best.
xixgun · M
Never heard of him.
@xixgun

lol then you'll want to keep it that way. Unless you want to laugh and pull your hair out in equal measure
Budwick · 70-79, M
Never heard of him.

What is 'the faith'?
@Budwick

lol lucky you.

He's a young earth creationist/tax evader.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Pikachu I see.
So, you decided to main stream on your faith beating this time, eh?
@Budwick

Sorry, didn't quite follow that.
What am i doing this time?
@AbbySvenz

lol indeed
