Do you feel like you have a relationship with God? [Spirituality & Religion]

The majority of us here are adults, so let's act like it and keep this civil, or I'll have to delete the post...

I believe that I do. I can feel God very strongly in my heart at times, (mostly when I am quiet and relaxed, in my bed). When I pray, I get a feeling of overwhelming love. And sometimes, if He wishes, He answers me in words that are not words, in my heart and mind. God is love, and if anyone has ever felt love, they know God.

@latinbutterfly Our connection to God is like a good cell phone connection. If we have not thought of Him, or sent our love to him with full feeling because our lives have become so busy or conflicted, the "signal strength" weakens, and sometimes it seems to disappear altogether. But He is our Tower. His strength and love never fail. It is only that we sometimes become too distant and can no longer pick up His "signal".

I do have a relationship with god and I don’t pretend to be perfect or sin free nor do I suddenly wake up and realize I made mistakes.

I always tried to feel something when I was still religious, but I don't think I ever really did.

I think I've become more comfortable with spirituality since leaving religion. I don't know if I have a relationship with "God" per se, but I feel an energy, some sort of connection with the universe, maybe. One day I want to explore it more.

You know like how Thomas wouldn’t believe Jesus had rose from the dead until he could see him with his own eyes and feel the scars with his own hands?

I’m like that. If I die and I see God, I’ll accept it or if I experience something akin to that with my own physical being.

No. Lost my religion about 15 years ago and I feel much better going about my life knowing that he isn't going to lean over my shoulder one day and say, 'I want you to kill your neighbour, a stranger, an unbeliever, your son to prove to me you really trust me.'
It's such a weight off my shoulders.

I agree. I am a believer but simply keep my thoughts to myself. Not my call if someone believes or not. But that should be a two way street.
People just need to need to leave each other alone and we’ll all just be better off.
