Why are creationists perfectly happy to accept it when a DNA test shows that they're part irish or native or that they're related to someone famous... [Spirituality & Religion]

...but when DNA shows that we shared a common ancestor with other apes suddenly it's all just conjecture?

Come on, fundies. Pick a lane.

Results that fit their prejudices (e.g. those showing human ancestry) are "real science" and "the truth". Results that challenge their prejudices and cast doubt on their magical man-in-the-sky are just made up. :)

@Bushranger he probably will
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Bushranger He said " I'm leaving this thread"

He'll be back when he feels that his inability to meaningfully address pertinent questions has been forgotten
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@newjaninev2 Never forgotten. Perhaps I shouldn't have said that, he might never come back and I was enjoying being back on the rollercoaster.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
Reminds me of that section in Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy where the narrator talks about humans being descended from apes, but never inviting them to dinner.

Will it break this little part of the internet if I say that we are, after all, only animals?
@Bushranger

No argument here lol
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
Because they do not understand science in the least. It's part of a skewed survival thing. Because they don't understand it fully it is easier to dismiss it..because that would crush their entire system of faith in a fake thing. It makes them feel crazy. Easier to deny.
@JaggedLittlePill

It does appear to require some compartmentalization
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
Because it's not the truth. Please, leave science to the true scientists.

@SW-User attribution?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@SW-User Never mind, I'll do the attribution for you.

The quote you offered is from creation.com

It's "based on the analysis of data provided in various publications" (whatever that means).

Would you now like to discuss it further with me?

@newjaninev2 I’m not arguing against you. I still think 80%+ is a lot.

Why do you care?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@peskyone Lmao, this conversation demonstrates very clearly who’s confused about how the internet works - turns out it’s not the generation that made it mainstream.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
Damn, I've go no hope then.
@peskyone

why did you care enough to comment?
OK just admit it - your DNA results came in and you are related to Trump.
@MarmeeMarch

lol perish the thought
@Pikachu Thats OK - I wont tell
