Is a woman superior to "god"? [Spirituality & Religion]

Christians claim that their god made the world perfect and all the problems are due to Eve eating an apple. The implication is that "almighty god's" plans were thwarted by a mere woman. :)

It was just an excuse to oppress us in the past. Men have always been scared because we can give birth and take it away, the only other beings in folklore that can do that are Gods :)

Heaven forbid we figured out that our oppression was simple jealousy.

@SatanBurger You honestly believe that??
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Quizzical Yes. I'm not saying it's right to take life away, certainly nothing wrong with giving birth. But if you look at history you can pin point how certain belief systems got started. There's alot of hatred towards fertility through history.

@SatanBurger It was my understanding that the earliest revered deities were fertility deities.

It's really only since monotheism became popular that fertility deities vanished. But even now we still refer to our planet as Mother Earth.

@Quizzical That's right, monotheistic religions like christianity seek to oppress.

@AgapeLove Well I wasn't specific enough about my points so if there is anything you want me to clarify I can do that.

@AgapeLove
I doubt the first priority of the feminist movement was to have men stop holding doors for them
I can find no record of the suffragettes (actually a terrorist group, unlike the suffragists) demanding women be conscripted and sent to fight on the front line in World War 1. I thought they were supposed to have been fighting for equality.

@Quizzical Just replying to you about the fertility goddess, they were around but then Christians killed worshippers and outlawed them, this is historical fact so during the modern day that belief is coming around but for more than 1,000 years or so it wasn't.

@AgapeLove I don't have time at the moment but I'd like to hit on a few points in a little while when I got more time.

I just wanted to mention and say thanks for saying it's not sexist, I wasn't trying to be even if viewers view it as such. They were just observational facts mainly from sociology and social conditioning through out the ages.

And I don't have time for links right now but I will in a little while.

@SatanBurger 1000 years is a mere blink when compared to the length of time they were worshipped though...

@Quizzical Even in Ancient Greece where they had GODDESSES, women had no property or political rights. It's like Hitler saying he loves animals, despite doing horrible experiments on them and what he did to the Jewish people.

Fertility Goddesses are a GREAT symbol but symbols are not representative of a general attitude when the history points the exact opposite through anti women laws for many centuries dating back to before biblical times and well after.

It all amounts down to power struggles which is what I'm getting at, all of those anti woman sentiments represent power but I also think power and greed, jealousy, fear all go together in a weird twisted way.

@AgapeLove Anyways back to the actual subject, introducing womb envy... they basically explain it better than I do and also give historical examples of men jealous we could give birth and the like.

Here's also another link talking about historically how women were seen as unclean because of our periods (which actually indicate fertility by the way which is not disgusting,) pregnancy and other things.
