Is it insensitive to send atheists Christmas cards? [Spirituality & Religion]

Does it come across as gloating?
I don’t think they would appreciate it. You could just send a “Happy Holidays” card.

@LadyGrace no it's Christmas when baby Jesus was born an that's all
No kidding. I wasn’t arguing that point. I answered how they might interpret sending a Christmas card. @IndigoSavage

My family is atheist, and sends and receives Christmas cards every year. I don't think most people consider Christmas, or even Easter, to be religious holidays at all anymore.
Dateless · 31-35, M
Christmas isn’t even Christmas is the lunar festival that the pagans celebrate in light of the new year.

People have been taught some fucked up shit, religion is propaganda and it only divides people.

Example, OP and her thoughtless question.@ScrewThisImDone
Xmas doesn't mean what it used to, its changed meaning many more times than we think. It was the birth of Horus before Jesus and I think it was older than that

I'm sure most couldn't care less, at least that's how I feel about it. It's just Christmas. 🤷‍♂️
merry xmas .. oh by the way, youre going to burn in hell :)

kisses

Pretty sure it’s a nice gesture regardless.

No. Being an atheist doesn't necessarily equate to being anti-Christian; just like being Christian doesn't equate to being anti-atheist, or anti-Muslim, or anti-Jew.

Most Christmas cards are designed to deliver a message of love, understanding, good-will and peace. Prized gestures in all religions well as most atheists.

In a world where the wrong look could cause violence,it just might be offensive, just saying 😏
No doubt. 👍@Poppapepe
NeloAngelo · 26-30, M
nope. merry Christmas is just basically saying i hope your happy during this festive period. just more santa than jesus focused.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
It would matter as much as sending me a card with a picture of a unicorn on International Unicorn Day

Not sure how that's gloating??? It's being thoughtful and caring that matters regardless of beliefs.
Dateless · 31-35, M
Are you associating Christmas with religion?
it wasnt santa born in a manger on the 25th... 🤔
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Yes, something like that. It's a celebration of Santa's birthday. 🥂🎅

too many religions to think that 1 small card could be so detrimental
Allelse · 36-40, M
How is it gloating?
IndigoSavage · 22-25, F
@Allelse what if you send them a card depicting little baby Jesus in the manger. Atheists might find that offensive.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@IndigoSavage Why? I mean I wouldn't be offended if somebody sent me a card with the baby Hercules on it.
