No because I don't believe in sin is the main reason. Suicide is sad and people should get help before they do but sometimes people are born into lives they have no control over and didn't ask for. Child marriage for instance, caste systems for another, lack of any support system.
Knowing those factors, if God still judged people that ended their lives then maybe it's time to reconsider that this God isn't who he says he is 馃
It's strictly Church doctrine. It comes from St Augustine and his writings. Unless I am wrong there is nothing in the Bible that says it is the eternal sin to take your life. Plenty of passages support it if you want to infer the meaning but none say it. The historical facts are that even the Catholic church gave sainthood to people who killed themselves in the early days so it's a hard one to call.@SatanBurger
I've known too many good souls suffer to the point of ending it and I've certainly considered it myself. The way I see it is 'god' or the universe totally understands that kind of suffering and how hard it is to be alive. No omnipotent being is going to be stupid therefore its not going to hate, judge or punish. Maybe there's a difference in what happens after a deliberately self caused passing but I believe you get to recover and start again maybe reincarnated, I don't know but there is no time limit on enlightenment
@HanaSongOnline I've heard that scripture is the most detailed historical record that mankind has ... but I don't want to enter a theological debate here ... I'll just believe what I believe, and you do likewise. I wish you well.
