Why do some Christians think quoting the Bible makes them right? [Spirituality & Religion]

The funny thing is, basically nobody follows the Bible, and it's a damn good thing, too. The Bible calls for unconditional pacifism, but even today, basically nobody practices that. Seriously, try and find a Christian who says they wouldn't fight back against a killer. Actually following the words of the Bible is the perfect way of rewarding villainy.

I believe in Christ. The only time I quote is when forwards something from the Bible that isn’t there or answering a question.

It's because it's the infallible word of God... Or at least what someone said he said, written down often a few hundred years after the event.... Translated from Greek to Latin to English and maybe some Hebrew and Aramaic thrown in along the way... As I said, infallible

Im Christian and dont like it either.

That is the core basis for their beliefs. It always comes back to faith & to question is to lack faith. It is too scary or too hard for most of them to aknowlege that they are just as likely to have it wrong as anyone else.....much less admit it.

And then God said what? Hold on hold on. "Yeah I'll take the cheese sticks what if a holder of combo I get a drink free ok so that's a pizza cheese sticks and a drink"

They hold the Bible to be the literal Word of God and the one and only source of truth in the world.

I have the same issue with Muslims, it gets on my nerves

By their logic, quoting the Qur'an proves the Bible is false.

Because they think it is factual.

Sometimes it can be fun to quote the bible to show them they are wrong though...
