@Elephant Oh, doubt not... you and I, and all those who have expressed non-Christian thoughts, who value human minds over the god of soon-President Pence and all the rest of the Bibull-Taliban now installed as our rulers, will go through the Hell on Earth they're building for us.
(I just enjoy writing the sort of snuff-porn I'm sure excites creatures like hippyjoe, shooter6, godspeed, and Gunsmoke9.)

@MissPriscillaPrim What is this "Hell on Earth" that you're concerned about?
MissPriscillaPrim · 70-79, T
@ms20182878 The concentration camps our bibull-Nazi leaders have already built for ICE to incarcerate anyone here who reads the Qur'an instead of the bibull. They'll soon enough liberalize the admission requirements.

@MissPriscillaPrim So, you're concerned that masses of Americans who don't read the Bible will be gathered up and locked up in concentration camps?
MissPriscillaPrim · 70-79, T
@ms20182878 I have read comments on Similar Worlds (and elsewhere) by plenty of people who would love nothing better than to see that blessed day arrive.

@MissPriscillaPrim Yes, I know that many people feel free to shoot off their mouth with rude and crazy ideas here, and in other places. Do you believe that could really happen? That would mean locking up tens of millions of people.

@ms20182878 Think about the US Interstate Highway system (btw, did you know its design was copied from the Nazis?) and how daunting the task to build it must have seemed... completed more-or-less in just over a decade. And that wasn't built with the Divinely Inspired Fervor with which our fearless leaders detest dark-skinned people.

@ms20182878 Granted, I'm adding some hyperbole into the mix. But the threat to our nation is real.

'Our campaign to challenge service members to “refuse illegal and immoral orders” is underway. Due to resistance on many levels, Trump’s massive military-hosted immigrant detention camps are not going up as fast as initially announced, but they are moving forward...
'“Everyone hates the mission,” "My military has been ordered to help run Trump’s immigrant prison camps. Not the mission I signed up for," and “This is so messed up. Not sure what I’m going to do.” These are some of the responses we’ve received so far from service members...
'What are we actually asking service members to do? Well, speak out for starters, anonymously or, with our help, publicly in way that doesn’t necessarily violate military regulations. If they choose to resist, they’ll have our support--we’ve collaborated on the public and legal defense of about 50 service members that have faced serious consequences for having taken conscious stands since 2005.'

@Elephant My eyes travel from what you wrote to what I wrote, and damn if I can see any connection. Seriously. It might help if you can point out what in my screed inspired you to write "more compassion... instead of how you can avoid it."

@MissPriscillaPrim I checked out couragetoresist.org. They label the immigrant detention facilities "concentration camps" and they say "facilities are being constructed and used to imprison large numbers of a persecuted minority in a relatively small area with inadequate facilities (the definition of a concentration camp)". Their definition seems written to try to get people upset. Maybe it will be as they wrote, and maybe not. I'm not sure what the current status of the construction is. From my perspective, it seems like the goal is to provide better housing than what they receive now, often crowded into worse spaces. But the immigration issue is such a hot topic that it is no surprise that some folks will not want to participate in any way... hence the cause for which couragetoresist has begun defending.

@ms20182878 Appreciate your thoughtful analysis, and though I don't agree with it all, this does nothing to diminish my new-found respect for you. I should have started with less hostility, but y'know, the social environment of this website kinda corrodes my patience at times.

@ms20182878 Don't overdo it.
