Should Atheists abandon hope for teaching logic to theists? or should we take a different approach by proving religion to be unethical instead? [Spirituality & Religion]

Should athiest learn logic before talking about it?
pride49 · 31-35, M
@Llort Yes I should think so, Unless your taking interviews with preachers, or planning on affecting large groups of people, disbelief is a conviction you can have without logic regardless
The only thing you said is the other said shouldn't be questioned... Sounds logical.. you should only interview one side...
Or everyone can mind their own fucking business and stop trying to argue if god is real or not 🤞🏼
@pride49 are you stupid? when did I say that???? I said people should leave people alone and let them believe what they want.
pride49 · 31-35, M
@RemovedUsername650611 Sure, tell that to the religious onlookers outside the gay pride parade, outside abortion clinics etc. Just because they should doesn't mean they won't. I was trying to get a rise out of you obviously. That's what these posts are about. To encourage debate and questioning logic.
@pride49 going back to my original answer of why.........people should leave people who don’t have the same views alone and let them believe what they want

What they believe shouldn’t matter as much as what they do with those beliefs. If it makes their life more meaningful, and they don’t use it to oppress others, then that’s a fine place to be. We shouldn’t be oppressors either.

God is the Author of logic and reason. Why do skeptics think we're being illogical? Believing in the one true God is the most logical thing anybody can do. BTW, it's never been or ever will be about religion. It's about a relationship with God. Religion is man's way of trying to reach God, relationship is God's way of reaching man.
God is the Author of logic and reason
I invite you to demonstrate the veracity of that claim using reason and logic😉

@Pikachu Where, do you think reason and logic came from? How was man able to recognize them for what they are?
SW-User
Most theists only respond to an emotional argument, not a logical one. If you want to get rid of religion, such an integral part of society, you'll need to replace it with something else that could fit its shoes -- and it can't be "nothing" or science.
pride49 · 31-35, M
@SW-User I'm afraid no matter the emotional argument, a theist will punch holes in that argument with a new random metaphor quoting something from religion to change the subject. meh
As a theist, I think atheists should do what makes them happier.

@Mamapolo2016 Many atheists enjoy a logical debate. Battling in an argument against an illogical argument can be frustrating but enjoyable to both parties at times. And instead of using fear and death as an alternative to logical thinking doesn't seem enjoyable. Without sermons, and being a fan of religion, there is more time to enjoy things in life
@pride49 Fear and death are not the focus - or even a part of - my beliefs. It would be more logical if atheists inquired about what someone believes before they attempt to debate them.

It's the act of believing that appears to infuriate atheists.

I don’t understand the point in even trying for either side tbh no one actually listens

If prayer worked, there’d be no hospitals.
pride49 · 31-35, M
@MrBrownstone True, I like watching the tv show house XD in an episode a person almost dies, and claims they had seen heaven. Asking the doctors to pull the plug. But the drugs induced can give anyone visions. So house made himself clinically dead, just to prove a point lol
indyjoe · 56-60, M
Why not just let sleeping dogs lie?....
pride49 · 31-35, M
@indyjoe Because the government pays religious fanatics to convert people to their cause
