What do you think of the biblical food laws? [Spirituality & Religion]

Here's my take on them.

Basically if it has a cloven hoof and chews cud (grass / herbivore) its clean. A rabbit eats only vegetation but doesn't have hooves. A pig has hooves but doesn't eat only veg. From the sea you may only eat fish with fins and scales. No shell fish.

Its scientifically proven that shell fish can make you very I'll if not cooked fully. Fish with scales you may eat raw.

Meat eating animals including pigs often have worms in the meat. In pigs they are called pork worms. If you don't Cook pork long enough the parasites can pass on to you and make you very poorly, even make dogs poorly. A bears meat has such strong parasites no matter how much you cook it you would probably get sick.

Animals that dont have hooves such as rats, squirrels etc often also carry disease.

So the food laws actually made sense in biblical times. These days with technology and better cooking knowledge we can avoid getting sick.

Also in the UK its illegal to feed pigs meat. So they dont have parasites.
i think its a big load of crap.
its like fish being the last supper , ergo. good friday choice of food..
what if they simply didnt have T-bones on the menu.. and fish was the cheapest to feed a party of 12?..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout but there is certainly science behind it

This is the way I always thought of it too, with less detail though.
