When you’re anxious about the future... [Spirituality & Religion]

This is something we get caught up in very easily. However, there’s something we can do about it. When you know who holds your future, you can rest in your day. The Lord’s not going anywhere. He’s just as dependable today, as He was yesterday or the day before, when he saw you through. He never changes. He’s the same as he was ages ago. He’s not finicky or fickle. He’s your trustworthy, dependable, Rock of all Ages. He does what he says he’ll do. We’re talking about Almighty God here. A solid Anchor in the storms of everyday life.

Don’t fall into the trap of worrying about tomorrow. It will take care of itself and you haven’t even been there yet. Worry and trust never mix. It just tells Jesus that you really haven’t let go, because you don’t trust him. It’s a strange thing. When you let go of fear, what you’re actually doing, is stepping out on faith, which allows God to work on your behalf. God didn’t place that fear in you, and perfect love for a perfect God, drives out all fear. I sure don’t know of anyone who’s more trustworthy. Let Jesus go before you. When you toss aside fear, he’ll light your path. He can’t work on your behalf, if you won’t trust him.

You might say, well I’m too afraid to step out. I don’t have that kind of faith. But I sure you, you do. You just don’t realize that it’s not your power you have to depend on, it’s God’s power, who will see you through. He knows your past, present, AND future, so what better person to put your trust in? A person who wants you to succeed and have the desires of your heart. A person who’s on your side!

So when the future feels uncertain, when things seem to change, or we find ourselves on a new journey in this life, and start to feel the pressure and stress of it all weighing down heavy on our hearts and minds, Christ reminds us not to worry about tomorrow. He assures us of his care for each and every day. Oh, yes. Ask him to help you let go of trying to figure everything out, and just trust him in today, knowing he is with you always, and will lead you every step of today and into tomorrow. Just declare, “God, I’m going to trust you today!”

Does that mean everything will be hunky-dory and go your way? We can’t be naïve. We live in a world where Satan abides as well, and he’s not on your side, but if things go awry, remember...we don’t live in a perfect world. However, if you’re a child of God, by the power and authority of Jesus, you can command Satan to leave you alone, and God’s Word says when you do that, the devil has no choice but to flee, because “Greater is He (Jesus), that is IN you, than he (the devil) that is in the world.” You’ve got the power. All you have to do is exercise it! By your power that devil won’t be afraid. He’ll just laugh and say, “Who are YOU to tell me what to do? I know Jesus, but I don’t know you!!” But when you command Satan to leave you alone by the power and authority of Jesus, he has no choice, but to leave you alone, because Jesus is so much greater than him, so be bold in Jesus and state your claim. Satan can’t cross the bloodline of Jesus. He trembles in fear, even at the mention of His name. You’ve got the authority. Use it, in Jesus’s name.

Yes, we’ll have trials, and along with those trials will be temptations. Satan brings the problem, but for those who love the Lord, he works them out when you trust Him, for your good. Don’t get bitter when they come. Get better! It will change your whole life for the better. They are there to teach you valuable lessons about life. What works, and what don’t. That’s the only way we learn, by trial and error. Instead of complaining and blaming God, ask yourself what lesson(s) you need to learn from this. Until you learn the lesson, which will enhance your life to become a better person, you’ll stay stuck in the same place, so be teachable. The lessons add much value to your life. When you’ve learned the lesson, then you’ll be able to move on, but not until you do. When you do, you’ll be smarter and wiser for it, so instead of avoiding the lesson, face it head on and find out what it is that needs changing in your life, so your life can work better, then make the necessary changes. Don’t make the lesson harder than it should be. Adjust your attitude, and realize that God is telling you something needs changing, because obviously, things aren’t working out very well for you, the way they stand. Lessons are not your enemy. Sometimes your own attitude is. 😉
