God isn't dead, it was never alive in the first place, it never even existed. [Spirituality & Religion]

Sueisright · 31-35, F
Oh no not another religious fruit cake
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Sueisright I certainly wasn't brainwashed,l became a Christian when I was 17, think I'd always believed in God but He never meant much to me. I started attending a church because there were others my age and made friends. One evening God spoke to me so clearly through the pastor about giving our lives to God that I realised it was what I needed to do. I remember praying and feeling an overwhelming sense of God's presence. I've been a Christian ever since and I experience God's love and peace daily. A few years ago God healed me of bad pains in my hips, I can now walk for miles again and play football, whereas before walking any distance was agony.
I believe God is real and I thank Him so much for what He's done for me.

Well it’s good you found something you like

By whose standards are you basing your conclusion on? Again, for umpteenth time, where is your evidence?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
You don't like being Suzie Q?
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 It's not a matter of liking of not liking it. The fact remains I am not Suzie Q. Facts are somewhat alien to you aren't they?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
I keep wondering the same thing about you.

Both Stephen Fry and I would hope that you're right, because we certainly wouldn't want such a nasty thing loose in the universe!

@GodSpeed63 Where's your evidence that it isn't just a figment of your imagination? I'm still waiting to see your evidence that The Flying Spaghetti Monster isn't real. Don't you have any?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
Just look at my past post to you, I'm sure you'll find it one you have the blinders removed.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 I've seen your past posts, no one contains any evidence that The Flying Spaghetti Monster isn't real. If you think I'm wrong, reproduce that post here now.

I used to be militantly atheistic until I decided this was just as dogmatic a position as any religion. Here's how I look at the god-thing now: There is such a thing as Truth that can't be denied, the way a geometrical theorem, a straight line, or a chord played well in tune are True. Some people adore Truth as a living person, some people honor Truth via science, the arts or justice, and some people pull the wool over their own eyes and praise "Bob" until the cattle come home to Jonestown.

@GodSpeed63 I didn't mention religion or evolution, but perhaps necessary for this discussion. Evolution doesn't necessarily disagree with the concept of a God. Without any other alternative for the initial creation of life, the possibility of the intervention of a God can not be disproved, but would be unlikely. But it may well disagree with the Word of God as interpreted by some people. I mean to say, the creation of the world in 6 days, all life on earth being saved from a world-wide flood are stories that can have no basis in science.

Of course, if you claim that God is omnipotent and can perform miracles, then you have an easy, but patently false explanation for the discrepancy. You see, science looks for provable truth and is willing to adapt it's hypotheses to according to what is observable and testable.

@Bushranger Suzie Quatro? I couldn't hope to emulate her. :(
