Followers of Christ: Are you staying in God’s Word, or following what Jesus calls “every whim of doctrine”? [Spirituality & Religion]

If you’re not reading and studying the pure Word of God, Satan will confuse you, who are spiritually weak from not reading and studying His Word, with false doctrine. Study the Word. Then you’ll not have to guess if you are doing what God’s Word says...you’ll know...and not be easily lead through false doctrine, as Jesus warns. Even He did not like the religious leaders, because they were leading people astray. Here’s what He had to say about that:

[c=#BF0000]1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world.[/c]

Galatians 1:8 refers to God’s disciples preaching to the crowds: “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach any other gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse!”

This is how serious God takes His words. Don’t be so spiritually weak that you believe everything these false teachers tell you. Look it up for yourselves. Test it against God’s Word, and Jesus said if it doesn’t match up to what is in your bible, then you’ll know it is not of God. If you know of any other God that shows people how to have salvation, and live eternally in heaven, tell me and show me. Some claim they do, but they teach falsely...the ones God Almighty warns us about. Do not be mistakenly lead astray.

I had one the other day who tried to tell me I could get to heaven by my own bootstraps. That does not match up with God’s definition of salvation. He never once said you could earn your way to heaven by doing good works or taking special steps on a mere spiritual journey. Always trying so hard to earn their way to be “good enough” to take certain steps to reach a certain pillar. Even they do not know when they will reach that goal and the right to be good enough to please God. That is a miserable way to live, trying to always be “good enough” for God. That is not possible, except by the grace and forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ....His grace is sufficient once and for all to find salvation. It only takes one time to have your sins forgiven through Jesus. Not one person can ever “earn” their way to heaven. Salvation is a free gift, just for the asking. Jesus already paid for our sins, on the cross.

The more I questioned this man I spoke about, the truth came out. He finally told me that he doesn’t believe in heaven or hell. If this is true, then what is he trying to achieve through his spiritual steps? Only peace and harmony, alone, not salvation or anything to do with it. He thinks he can achieve the status of being his own god. Good luck with that. Jesus said be careful that you are not lead astray by what He Himself said, is false doctrine, taught by false teachers.

Ephesians 2:8 - 9: [c=#BF0000]For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast [that they saved themselves].[/c]

:) Nice trolling.
@Thodsis Baloney. Just sharing what Jesus said. Just like those on here share porn or whatever else they like. It’s a free country. No one has to read it or believe it. To each their own.

There are two things that all religions hold as truth:

(1) Humanity is separated from God.
(2) Humanity needs to be reconciled with God. The differences come in how that reconciliation is acquired.
