Is Karma real? [Spirituality & Religion]

If you think so, are you either Hindu or Buddhist?
Doomflower · 36-40, M Best Comment
No.

Karma is a horrible concept and poorly understood by most people who use the term at least in the West.

If karma is real every baby born with AIDS did something in a past life to deserve it. Every rape victim had it coming. Every person who is the victim of a natural disaster deserved to lose everything they had.
@Doomflower finally someone who actually knows something about the concept. Best answer!

@Mandalorian thank you!

Karma is the law of cause and effect, essentially consequences. In that context, I believe in karma and I'm not a Buddhist or Hindu.
@Graylight karma is a religious tenet

@Mandalorian Yes and no. In its most technical sense, Buddhism is not even a religion. Many consider Karma to be a natural law or a law of the universe.
@Graylight Only in the eyes of new agers, who also have no idea about the full nature of the doctrine or where it came from. I have read many old texts on karma and yes, it is religion.

I am a Hindu and I know Karma is real.

if it was then there'd be no need for a Judgement Day from God
