If I have no issue with homosexuality but my religion does, does that still make me a Christian?? [Spirituality & Religion]

I'm confused
onlytimewilltell · 26-30, F
God teaches us to love everyone. God loves homosexual people but he doesn’t like the homosexuality sin. Which is different. We are all sinner ! If God hated all of us for our sins then he wouldn’t like anyone of us. haha
that’s why it is tolerated in some churches.
Tolerating doesn’t mean you agree. It means you are open-minded enough to accept that others can be different.

@onlytimewilltell Hey! I see you PM'd me...I expected that because kids can't let it go...they think they can PM you after you end the conversation...I didn't read it..I deleted it...don't do it again kid
@JovialPlutonian Christ is the founder of Christianity. He does have rules.
@onlytimewilltell I was going to compliment you on your one answer here. I thought you were a Christian, but now I have to question that, given your language above. Christians don’t talk like that. The Bible says “you shall know them by their fruits”.

Wtf. Did you read what I said ? If you think everyone can always agree on everything then you live in dreamland. It is utopia. And as a believer, I never judge others or try to control others. I mind my own business and I deal with my own sins....

@Fernie For some weird reason, I've been crushing on you for years. Maybe I just like Ostriches.

I think if your religion disagrees with what you think is right, then you belong to the wrong religion
That’s religion. Now, what about what God thinks? He sets the standard...not us. @Sirius

can I call myself a Christian if I don't believe what my religion believes?
Well then if you don’t believe in sin, how can you ask about Christianity in your post? I don’t understand how you can’t believe in sin, when it’s all around us. That’s why we have murders and rapes and thieves, etc. You are not reading my posts because as I explained above, Christianity is not a religion. It is a personal commitment to Jesus. Religion is just man-made philosophy and religion did not die on the cross for our sins. @JovialPlutonian

@LadyGrace tbh this conversation isn't going anywhere, I can ask about what ever I wish, to me what you call sin is merely where humans have forgot themselves and is more a blessing. Nonetheless I care not to explain myself as this is proving to be pointless???
That was my exact thought when replying, too, but I will say that I wasn’t criticizing your question. Yes, is pointless. Let’s leave it at that. Thanks.@JovialPlutonian
We all run up against it. If you are a Christian for example, your going to find several 'moods' of God in the Bible. The ink on the pages is selfless love and sacrifice, but it can also be human trafficking and genocide. I suppose there is a reason Paul talks about "rightly dividing the word of truth." I think about these things when I read the bible.
Why am I reading?
Who is speaking?
When were they speaking?
Who were they speaking to?

Paul gets pretty 'progressive' in Roman's chapter 14, but then he specifies in other parts of the same letter that 'sexual sin' is unique and worse than other types of 'sins'.

According to some ink, you are still a Christian, and according to other ink, you're endangering your soul. It's an amazing and supernatural collection of writings, but that doesn't mean I'm going to bash my daughter' head in with rocks if she doesn't have an intact hymen on her wedding day.

i am a gay Christian and i believe god created me this way. religion is a man-made construct. it has its place in life but my beliefs are based on the Bible and my relationship with God.

If you reject the evil parts of Christian teachings this makes you a better Christian.

do you have your own mind? Can you think for yourself? Make a decision on your own? You already made the decision....right? Your decision makes you a good HUMAN BEING
NorthernBear · 51-55, M
There's (at least) ten thousand flavors of Christian. I've known ministers who were openly gay.

Little by little society changes religion
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@Trevo yeh seems technology is their current God or money most likely
What does your religion say?
