Is Halloween a religious holiday for anybody else on SW? [Spirituality & Religion]

As Samhain is a holiday for my goddess, the night of the 31st and the day of the 1st of November are holy to me, as well as being fun. Will anybody else be conducting rites that night?

My BFF will be holding rites that night/the next day. I'll prolly participate, as I usually do. (The day after Samhain is my birthday!)

@PeanutsauntieP1982 Well, a preemptive happy birthday to you!

Thank you! (and an early Happy New Year to you!) :-D
Pretty sure it's a celebration for all Christian people. Not sure if Jews and Muslims celebrate it too

@Qwerty14 Hmm... I haven't heard that specific term before, but that could be a regional thing, as the Anglicanism that I'm familiar with is American Episcopalianism.

Thank you for bringing the term to my attention!
@RemovedUsername8862 It's a simple term. Hallow just means saint. Tide is a specific time. So it's basically the time for all saints. Most people hear the term tide though at Christmas. The 12 days of Christmas being called Christmastide.

Further, the term Halloween literally means the eve of saints. Though now it's become the day of costumes and candy lol

@Qwerty14 Ah, that explains it. The version celebrated at the church I used to attend refers to its celebration as "All Saints Day", which would be the same thing in a one-day consolidated form.
What's your goddess?

@CopperCicada My apologies, I wasn't trying to imply that. I was just commenting on how it seems that you can't wave an athame without hitting five "revamped" myths or legends.
@RemovedUsername8862 sure. it's a pain in the ass i think to people who take these things seriously...

@CopperCicada I'll admit that I wince whenever I see "Thor" in a Marvel movie. Such a bastardization of the Eddas.
