well Fairies are not above dying if a child somewhere says they do not believe in them so they are bound to be at least bruised if a child said they did not know if there were fairies or not. I mean they might even kill them because agnosticism clearly states a lack of 100% belief in fairies.

yes and that is why you can only kill one fairy each. It is is not the act of saying you do not believe in fairies that kills fairies - it is the loss of innocence when a child for the first time disbelieves - see? It is that child's inner fairy.
