Could christians stop using the argument that since the bible contains real historical places [Spirituality & Religion]

Let them believe whatever they want, and at the same time they should let you believe whatever you want. This is for all religious people and all non-religious people: STOP ARGUING ABOUT IT. AGREE TO DIFFER. LIVE AND LET LIVE.

@Celine I don't see the fun it "debate", it's only a euphemism for "argument" and it does nothing to either maintain the status quo or establish a peaceful existence as far as I can see.

hi DarkMoon 路
actually there was divine origin just not Christian - they absorbed old Gods just like how churches are built on pagan sites and religious holidays like Christmas were dated to obscure pagan festivals. Religions roll up previous religions into themselves. Lots of virgin birth Gods before and crucified martyrs.
best wishes

hi Celine
Poetry knows no bounds of earth. Angels and seraphims populate the Christian imagination! What care they for simple facts and realities.

Tradition places seraphim in the highest rank in the Christian angelic hierarchy and in the fifth rank of ten in the Jewish angelic hierarchy. A seminal passage in the Book of Isaiah (Isaiah 6:1-8) used the term to describe six-winged beings that fly around the Throne of God crying "holy, holy, holy".

Best wishes

@sogdianrock As long as it's an even number, otherwise they fly in circles!

Some of the Bible is historically accurate, and some of it isn't. And certainly you can't use historicity to verify the truth of supernatural claims.

Books by J.K. Rowling contain real current places. So by extension, the wizarding world is real.

Any claims of fact to justify a religious claim is silly. All based on hearsay and faith, not facts.

And some times those places are not where they are now
No. If it bothers you, then it must be a good thing!

@Celine
Lol are those the scores?
They didn't have GEDs when I graduated. 馃
NankerPhelge61-69, M
@Pfuzylogic What is this GED I keep seeing on the Internet? When I was in school, those letters stood for "Geometric and Engineering Drawing", but now I form the impression that it stands for something else.

@NankerPhelge
It is for those students that didn't focus on their studies in High School so they can move on to undergraduate credits once they pass the test.
