I Am American

And proud of it.
Despite our problems, most people that live in the states don't realize that we are probably the most blessed nation on the face of this earth.

Here is my suggestion to people who live in first world countries and hate their life:
Visit a third world country for 3 months, take only as much money with you as the average salary in the country you are visiting (or don’t take any money if you dare)
I guarantee that you will kiss the ground when you make it back(if you make it back)
[@Humbug You hit the nail right on the head.

Out of curiosity, how many other countries have you visited?
@Laughman Thanks but I am quite capable of expanding my horizons on my own.

PS The fireworks in Sidney were great last night. Out did NYC ball dropping by a mile.

@RemovedUsername825748 Thanks..yes "Sydney" does some good nye shows. You should come down to Australia next year and see it in person, in another country,to expand your horizons.
@Laughman Thanks for the offer but with a daytime temp of 40C in Sidney, I think I'll just stay home wrapped in a blanket and watch it on TV.

It kills me when people think that just because we live in a first world country that all Americans must be spoiled I don't need to visit a third world country to appreciate what I got I already been through enough
