LGBTQ #Pride [I Am A Part Of The Lgbtqq Community]

I support the cause, but hesitate to label it pride. I'd call it a love for justice and equality.

@SW-User Oh yeah, because that method has been way more succesful in the past. This is like talking to my 19 year old self.

@Kwek00 Social change only happens by wielding power. It doesn't happen through appeasement.

@SW-User I'm not talking about appeasment, I'm talking about creating room for a dialogue. But if you want to talk about power and appeasement, political leaders and appeasment go hand in hand. Because it kinda holds their base together which makes it easier to govern and have aid when needed. That's what gives them power so they can wield it. The idea that it doesn't happen through appeasement, is missing a lot of nuance.

Right. It's a pride movement because people have been taught to be ashamed. Pride is defiance.
@CountScrofula Absolutely. 👍🏽

We need to stop tolerating countries and religions that openly call for murder of gays and lesbians

I never used to understand Pride properly. I used to be one of those that would think why is a whole movement needed and then a friend made things clearer to me. I feel ashamed that I didn't work things out for myself on this one as it isn't hard to understand.

{@greennatured95 ] it is a pity as these terms come from small minded bigots
