So the Tory/DUP deal is now official.

The political wing of Rangers football club is now in government. Obviously May needed this but will it only hurt the Tories in the long run? What will it mean for Northern Ireland? Has Sturgeon just been waiting for this so she can declare the SNP will seek a second Scottish independence referendum?

I think it does damage the Tories reputationaly because of the DUP's ultra-conservatism on social issues. Even if they don't want to impose abortion control or gay marriage bans on the rest of the UK, there is still guilt by association which will alienate some liberal Tories.

The thing the DUP have out of the deal is money. One billion pounds increases Govt funding by 10% nationally to the province. Now apparently there is a 'magic money tree' for Northern Ireland, even if the rest of the union still has austerity. This is not fair and will cause deserved resentment.

On the Northern Ireland peace process, it puts the Govt on shaky ground. Even if Northern Ireland is benefiting financially, the Prime Minister has lost any claim to impartiality and with the Brexit changes this is a delicate time.

All those orange idiots should go live in England , have their Brexit and be done with it. The rest of us can carry on living in the real world.

@thatscottishguy: ha ha .... she'll probably start doing that stupid walk they do too. 😉

I hate this time of year. One of the walks goes along the bottom of my street. As a kid I would be stupid and go down with my Celtic top and my friend who was a Partick Thistle fan would wear a Celtic top too 😂.

Tories and DUP. I'm not super familiar with UK politics, but this does kind of make me roll my eyes. To make pun of it, I think the DUP is getting duped.

@Xuan12: Its more like the other way around actually. The DUP are used to negotiating and whatever their flaws, they are not fools when it comes to striking hard bargains.
