Do you think that the justice system in your country is broken? Or that it is functioning just the way it was designed and built to function?

Some places are okay, but a lot has been infiltrated by privatized penal institutions. Private companies who claim to be more efficient (though they often aren't) and make money from making sure people are committing offenses. When there's profit in making sure people are prosecuted for anything, you'll get more people getting prosecuted for anything, particularly the people who can least defend themselves.

Nothing created or constructed by humans runs the way it was designed and built to function. In the US, currently the justice system badly needs reform; right now, in many cases, you get the justice you can pay for.

The Canadian justice system seems to be inordinately obsessed with jailing minorities and protecting the rich. So it is working as intended, but how it was intended to function is not good.

Having seen it in action recently...through participation.
I have to say.
Yes.

Money is all that matters now. In our justice system, only people with money.

Look around you, can you see anarchy?
It's corrupt, and always has been, seriously. Money buys you bail (freedom), a vigorous defense, more likelihood of an acquittal, and in death penalty states, your life.
