So the US is in Syria without the permission of the Syrian government

And have the gall to be training rebel forces on Syrian land, and in order to maintain their foothold on a strategic location, they preemptively attack forces supposedly lead by Iran (who did have permission from the Syrian government to be in the country) because they entered "an agreed-upon non-conflict zone".

I'd it just me, or is the only force creating conflict the US? I'm not crazy, right?
The way I see it is Syria is allies with Russia. And Obama was making shit hard by obstructing..
get rid of Assad you can get rid of putins pipeline and install your own?

So you're in favor of toppling foreign governments for oil?
I think it's a gas line.. But no. It's just the deepest darkest part of the swamp... Proxy wars and lies...

Saudi Arabia just distanced themselves.. I think it's on the list 😒

@TheUltimateSaturn: We have permission by the Qatar government to use their airbase for operations in that area. I doubt we'd attack them. Very fine line we're walking here because they are playing both sides. I know pretty much everyone else is as well but we don't use everyone's airbase.

there is no Syrian government, any entity that kills over half a million of its own citizens has lost all legitimacy and therefore is null and void - the only question now is what legitimate "authority" will emerge to try to bring this awful situation to an end and rebuild the country , a more important question is why has the world for the most part allowed this slaughter and inhumanity to continue , shame on us all

@LvChris: I agree that for purposes of stability, a dictator, which is what Assad is, is better for stability in that region than others, but , seriously, please tell me you're joking, there was no fair election, and the "yada, yada, yada" comment is great if you're thousands of miles away from bombs dropping over your head , he HAS killed thousands of his own citizens, i suppose , as you said "everyone should leave him alone" and just let him attack his own people - women and children - with chemical bombs, brutally kill them, yeah, that's a good idea, lets's just leave him alone, let him kill his entire population and preside over a country with no citizens that's been bombed back to the stone age -

No you're not crazy, i think almost everyone knows the US government loves to stick its nose in other countries.

@lilchickennugget23: unfortunately all dominate powers in this world "stick their "nose" in other countries - it's sad but true - so the only question is do we just sit back and watch as Obama chose to do - and look how the world is now - or go in and try to be a force for good - it doesn't always seem like good but I gotta believe - at least I hope - it's the goal

It's a little late to be concerned about Syria now.
katielass · F
@Invisible: Sorry, I'm not going to criticize what we're doing now because it is the result of NOT doing something earlier. And we're not exactly forcing ourselves on the rebels. They invited us.
Invisible · 26-30, M
@katielass: It's not a result of not doing something before, it's utterly unnecessary for us to overthrow Syria

its a complicated situation for sure - because if he goes - maybe something worse takes charge but how can he stay ?? Using chemical weapons is horrible - but I see the points you are making but the answers are not as clear or obvious as you seem to be suggesting- at least try to see both sides @Invisible:
