Why would James Comey involve himself in a globalist liberal conspiracy against Trump?

US Conservatives who believe in the rule of law are now partisan enemies, right? 馃槀

Logic. Why is it never even tried?

@SmartKat: Yeah, it really makes sense that the Russians who rely on oil as their lifeblood would want to help elect Trump over Hillary. Trump a guy who is doing away with all the mindless EPA regulations and letting American energy/ oil now thrive and take off. All these actions by Trump will result in lower oil prices. Yes, Russia is really in favor of that.

Logic and liberals, they don't ever go together.
Comey sure wasn't considered a liberal when he was investigating Hillary Clinton. Funny how quickly the GOP forgets. And Trump trying to claim that was why he was fired is really disingenuous. He obviously thinks everyone is as stupid as even he's described his followers.

@bijouxbroussard: His excuse for firing Comey was an insult to the intelligence (lock her up anyone?). O really don't know what Trump would have to do to be seen as corrupt by his supporters. I know the support for Nixon stood strong at first but then collapsed. I am not sure that will happen this time though. The level of confirmation bias is staggering.

@Burnley123: For the record, having lived through Watergate, the Republican support for Nixon was still relatively strong right up until the last few days, when it became clear that he had been covering up his involvement in the scandal. This was the case even though Republicans were instrumental in drawing up impeachment proceedings and in holding hearings. Then support vanished amazingly fast, and resignation was Nixon's only viable option.

It is going to take something major to change Trump's supporters' opinion of him. Four recent polls I've seen put his support of voters for him at 98, 97, 96, and 89 percent. So despite all of the problems of the first four months, his support remains almost universal amongst his voters.

I think if solid evidence of wrongdoing is found, congressional support may collapse, mainly because Trump's removal would result in a President Pence, who is even more conservative. I don't see a significant loss of support from his voters, no matter what evidence is found and documented.
