PC really?

i'd like to know when common decency, compassion and treating others as you want to be treated became being too pc. i agree that some pc is overdone and not needed but it seems like those decrying the world as too pc just want it to be ok to be hateful to people.

Political correctness is thought control, it's forcing people to be and think a certain way. The motives no longer matter at that point because you've reached the point of oppression.

And that's assuming the motives were good to begin with. Which doesn't match reality.

@ladycae: No. You don't get to intentionally water down the definition of political correctness to something innocent and friendly and then accuse those of not playing along with deflecting or hijacking. You are the one deflecting by misrepresenting what political correctness is and that dishonesty will not work on me.

fine sicarm you just sit there and think that in your little world. i am done debating a simple issue that you want to make complicated. you take care i hope you have a nice life. if that is too pc for you then try this fuck of.

@ladycae: You're not debating. you're spewing propaganda. And you know it. But at least you exposed your own lie.

I think free speech has become too pc, so as to not hurt someone's "feelings". As long as they're not speaking of hurting a group of people, speaking on issues that most people don't want to hear but need to is not hateful.

pc is thought control, brainwashing 101.

@xSharp: so being kind and considerate is brain washing and thought control but being hateful just to be hateful is not? so saying hi to your neighbor or welcome to the neighborhood is brainwashing. i hope your idea of the world does not come to pass.

this is true.
That's exactly how the term evolved, from people who want to be able to make the same racist, sexist or homophobic statements without getting called on them.
