What's the big deal about one targeted rocket strike?

its just fishy to me, I dont believe it was a retaliation for the civilians that were killed the other day.. when has the US ever cared about some muslim people? It doesnt even care about your own citizens being poisoned in your own country.. so what is the real reason?

This isn't rocket science (see what I did there.. 😜)

If this were a terrorist nation and they had used nerve gas on civilians and we were hurting their ability to do that, I think we would have a coalition of nations saying, Yep go for it.

The problem here, is that there is alot more going on. Syria is in the midst of a civil war with Russia propping up the government, who are the ones who used the nerve gas. So then you have the US bombing that military airfield, most likely injuring or killing soldiers, civilians, Syrian and Russians .

So now what is Russia going to do if we killed their soldiers or civilians? I am not saying that stopping the government forces from being able to use nerve gas is a bad thing, but it certainly might have started something bigger .
So did Trump telegraph this move to Russia? Seems like he hit a couple of empty hangars and maybe a landing strip? No reports of any equipment being damaged. Did Assad have time to empty the base? I surely hope not!

@kingkyrie:

I wonder if less control and more self determination would have worked out better?

Same like crashing a couple of airplanes on a tall buildings.

@Chamango:

Some news outlets would have us believe that Assad's insiders are exactly like the Gestapo.

@Jackjjacksonjr: I really don-t want to comment something I know nothing about. If you want to get broader view, and I think you are that kind of a person, I suggest you to also check Russia Today sometimes.

@Chamango:

Excellent suggestion.

Trump talked about isolationism during his campaign.

This is what he used to say

So he either flip-flopped, or the deep state has taken control over him.

What would be the big deal if Russia would bomb one of your airports and kill a few? You still would have 300 million citizens left.😂

@Jackjjacksonjr: Don't know about that but it's certainly worth tho keep an eye on as well China as on India. 😂

I suspect most are like Trump and not Pakistan fans.

Because it is a proxy war. The US is indirectly fighting Russia.

Let's get some facts out there and figure out the truth.

@Jackjjacksonjr: agreed. maybe then americans could actually make an intelligent decision - instead of the garbage they're fed. Half the folks I work with are non-nmericans so I can't change my opinion. And arguing on a garbage site like this is demeaning to all of us.
Sorry if this shit got sideways.

Perhaps it's Donald sending a message. Sadly lives lost is secondary damage.

How many of the sixteen dead Syrians are innocent victims?
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Zero right?

@MasterLee:

They would be my guess.

@Jackjjacksonjr: Seems like a sure way to bring things to a head and convince a lot of folks that the US really is waging a war against Islam after all.
elVato · 46-50, M
@Misty71: actually, the US is just waging war against anyone that threatens to destabilize the petrodollar. It's the only thing propping up our economy, in theory. Look back at any of our 'humanitarian' interests and you can see a suspicious trail; why we choose some places to get involved and let other episodes of genocide and terror continue. But this all gets too far into the tin-foil conspiracy weeds, which in itself could be a conspiracy, which in turn... 😕
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
@elVato: any idea why Saudia Arabia pays the US annually?
