I hate to do this to people I mostly agree with but apparently it needs to be said.
So apparently ranked choice voting passed in Maine and St paul. Although now there are Democrats in St Paul that are fighting essentially to repeal it. Chuck Repke is running around claiming it's too complicated and confuses voters. I used to find a lot of Green Party Rhetoric unconvincing but now I see Democrats trying to repeal Ranked choice and I can't help but think that if people seriously want to make the Spoiler argument then Democrats themselves disproportionately are to blame.
After all their representatives have had the power to switch all this time and when Voters did it for them by Ballot measure they cried and complained and did everything they could to repeal it. If there is any Spoiler Effect then Partisan Democrats can take a look at the man in the mirror to Quote Michael Jackson.
