How many of you folks who hate islam and muslims have ever had a muslim friend? Ever been to a mosque and talked to the people?

How many of you actually arrived at your hate by interacting with the people and not by buying in to what you read on the internet and the extremist groups you hear about on the news?

Just curious.

I question the same thing everyday. That's why when people ask me about my faith, i'm open to answer. I'm open to show people what being a muslim really is, how being a muslim isn't confined to one type, theres muslims of different cultures, different races, different sects, we're not all the same, and not even 10% heck even 5% are like those extremist that are slammed on the news on a daily. Showing people what kind of person you are while living in a world where your identity is constantly demonised makes you doubt yourself. As long as people try and surpass their ignorance and actually talk to those they hold prejudice assumptions about, then the more we can learn to understand and learn differences.

Well i think that's just what people need to see. People who are willing to educate the ignorant.
It's gotta be hard to be associated with that kind of thing.

@UnparalleledMonster: Yeah, it does but i like to think that there's more people out there who aren't ignorant to this extent.

@HijabbaDabbaDoo:

I think you must be right. At least i choose to believe so
When Hizb ut-Tahrir walk down Main Street in Sydney calling for the end of the west and sharia law will dominate.. This has no place in my country..
But I'm not stupid enough to lump all Muslims into the hardline Islamist bag...

@UnparalleledMonster: I didn't say we should assume all muslims are bad until proven otherwise and my comments did not imply that. But it is true that we don't know which ones are bad. It's prudent to allow only those who have been vetted into our country. These refugees cannot be vetted because most have no functioning government in which to vet them. The rest are unreliable, or untrustworthy. Why would any sane person take such a chance when an alternative has been proposed that would not put innocent Americans in danger. I know the authorities and the corrupt media in Europe tried to hide what's been going on there but it's out. We're not even taking about just terrorism anymore. Let's learn from others mistakes and not be hell bent on making every one of them ourselves.

@katielass:

Don't pretend here, katie.
I've read some of the crap you write.
Like how hate crimes against muslims are mostly hoaxes.
You just like to dress up your prejudice with useful excuses. You know it. I know it.
You don't get to "I had a nurse who was an angel, but i can't be sure she wouldn't blow me up", otherwise.
Americans in danger
Yeah, that's always how it starts.
"Our country is in danger!"
And so we start tumbling down the slippery slope.

lol and you call me short-sighted.

We're done here.

I see you assume everyone else is as disingenuous as you are. But really, don't project your shit on to me. I am what I am, I make no pretense, and I'm not ashamed of who I am. So fuck off. No one can have an intelligent conversation with you. But if you think that little fact will prevent me from expressing myself, think again. You'll have to block me. If you had an sense you would.

I don't hate Muslims. My life depended on them during Desert Storm. Their life depended on me to.

Morgan Freeman has a show called The Story of God that's pretty good. He basically explores all the different religions. The time he spend on islam was very informative and unbiased.
SW-User
I've been wanting to watch that. What religions did he look at?
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
Good ol morgan freeman.
@HijabbaDabbaDoo: He's been through quite a few. The last episode I saw he spent time with a native american tribe. I've really only seen a few episodes so far. They're all sitting on my dvr waiting for me to binge. I've learned a lot from the little I have seen.

Can you imagine what the unhinged left would do if a trump supporter dared to have their child carry a sign that said keep muslims out? Never mind that it would be far less offensive than Behead anyone who blah blah blah. They'd probably start strapping bombs on themselves.

I don't know. Up is down, down is up Weirdos think they're normal. Normal people at least are mentally stable enough to question themselves before concluding the weirdos are the ones off their rocker.
Jazzy · 26-30, F
Do I look like a trumpet? No!
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@Jazzy:

Oh. I haven't heard that nickname before.
Good stuff
Jazzy · 26-30, F
@UnparalleledMonster: The first time I heard of a Trumpet I didn't get it either. But it makes sense if you think about it.
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@Jazzy:

lol yeah
They are not bad people, just don't talk about religion. They will turn face right away.
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
Could be. But christians creep me out that way too lol
Yep, they are like that as well. I've been called a sinner. Lol
