Trump : "The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes"

You couldn't make this shit up.
I'm honestly just shocked he managed to correctly use the possessive form of "its". Actually, the syntax is so different than others so trump likely didn't write it. The use of "until such time", and the "greatly strengthen" instead of "bigly strengthen" indicates a tweet not authored by the penis-elect. Regardless, a literal game show host has access to America's nuclear arsenal, and we're all unwitting contestants in "You Bet Your Life!"
@Burnley123: We've only begun. I'll order another drink for you.

@RootinTootinHighFalutin: Now that is an offer I can't refuse. ;-)
@Burnley123: WooHoo!!! The night is early!!! Cheers!

A year ago (during the Republican debate) Trump didn't know what the nuclear triad was. "Little Marco" Rubio informed everyone. -- I thought THAT moment was cringeworthy. HA hahaha.

Meanwhile Obama is Trumproofing everything he can (passing bills and pardoning people) before he leaves. It's like a toddler is coming to stay at the White House - only you hope he sticks a fork in the elctrical outlet.

@Fernie: What Obama executive orders Trump decides to leave as is will remain as is. What Obama executive orders Trump decides to change will be changed. Obama's executive orders are not binding on the next administration.

@hippyjoe1955: these days, I just feel indifferent to you and your ilk joe....I won't insult hippies.....you will soon feel and see that you do NOT matter to evil narcissists like trump....you seem to think that you DO matter..your opinion.....your needs.....your health....NOPE!!!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Fernie: Sorry to burst your bubble but the evil narcissist is about to leave the white house on Jan 20, 2017 and good riddance. He has done more to upset the international stage than any president in living memory. No one can find even one successful outcome from any of his many forays.

We already have mutually assured destruction. Even detonating a small number of nuclear weapons in a small area would be enough to cause catastrophic consequences. Currently, only 9 countries possess nuclear weapons, and the US and Russia own over 90% of them. So who exactly are we fighting? We already own more than everyone else. Are we starting another cold war with Russia? The US was one of the driving forces behind the nuclear nonproliferation treaty, and many countries either got rid of their nuclear weapons or shelved their research because of it. So we are now going to end our own treaty and signal to other countries that maybe they need to start re-evaluating their decision to stay nuclear weapon free? Yeah... Great plan.
Everyone lies. There is no solution and there is no chance of nuclear disarmament. The only answer is defense and offense.

@puck61: Yeah.... You do realize that it is pretty easy to keep track of who is building nuclear weapons, right? We already have enough to cause a mass extinction. How many more could we possibly need?
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@puck61: To be fair to Ronald Reagan (who I am NOT known to agree with) he did team up with Gorbachev to de-escalate the Cold War.

Trump and Putin get on so they could do the same. Where there is a will there is a way. This latest Trump policy most probably comes from his advisers and the US Nuclear lobby. It is in the US military's interests to increase their already astronomical spending but no-one elses.

Wow. The man makes me want to come up with a new word combining Hypocrite and Stupid. Maybe Stupicrite ?

I think Trump needs to spend about 20 yrs or so meditating in a Buddhist monastery. Then he might actually have a clue.

THE MIRACLE will be

while that ____( I can't call him a politician
and he lacks much criteria to be a human being) IS PRESIDENT.
Well, there are still people claiming the U.S. had to nuke women and children in Hiroshima and Nagasaki to "save lives". Those folks can justify anything. Just like they justify having voted for Trump.
Niburu · 51-55, M
the alternative would have been a full scale invasion of Japan to end the war, How would you have ended it?
@Niburu: How was the war ended in Europe? Using a nuclear weapon on Italy or Germany wasn't even on the table, just as internment of U.S. born Italian- and German Americans wasn't done on as large a scale as it was the Nisei.
Niburu · 51-55, M
the war in Europe was over by the time the atomic bombs were ready, we did fire bomb the hell out of all the major supply cites in Europe

Does life imitate a dystopian comedy novel?

Mutually assured destruction is our best option right now. No one is going to play fair. He is exactly right.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@puck61: Why do other nations not need the same? Who is threatening your borders in a way that you need most of the world's nuclear weapons?

This comes from the military industrial complex.
@Burnley123: We need to concentrate on defense and delivery, and keep nukes out of the hands of the Theocrats. The religious maniacs are the most dangerous of them all.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@puck61: I agree with keeping nukes out of the hands of others but its hard to get others to do what you are not because other countries also feel afraid.
abe182 · 46-50, M
It's about time someone understood what nukes are for. Peace keepers.

You think that I voted for Hillary?
You would be mistaken..In good conscience...I didn't vote for either...

But Saddam husseins daughter and Putin seem to like trump...
Cierzo · M
I support Trump, but these words are totally irresponsible and unacceptable. They justify another countries doing the same and putting the world at a bigger risk of a nuclear war.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
And he is wrong how?

If we do it constantly, then some of the Bullshit and Lies will diminish
