Pedistal or Cage?

When I hear some people say, "I cherish women," I remember what Ruth B. Ginsberg said:

"the pedestal upon which women have been placed has all too often, upon closer inspection, been revealed as a cage.”

What do you think? Yes, I know there is no definitive answer.
