Vote first, think later?

In depressed rural Kentucky, worries are mounting over Medicaid cutbacks. In the county they cover in this story, Clay county, 60% of the residents are on Medicaid. 86.6% voted for Trump.

It's about JOBS. Hillary said she wanted to put the coal miners out of business. Coal is big in West Virginia and Kentucky.

Besides, America needs to create jobs. the Labor Participation Rate is at 30 year lows. We need lower taxes and less regulation to stimulate the economy.

No one is going to have their hands and dispose millions from Medicare. But jobs are needed and that is why these people voted for Trump.
Obama is to blame for the anemic economic growth we've had. This is the worst recovery since WWII. We haven't had even normal amounts of growth.
Yes but its the also the worst recession that you have had since 1930. And the only reason that recovery was better back then was because their was even more state intervention under the new deal.

In addition, the rest of the developed world has recovered even slower, if at all. Europe cut MUCH more than America, destroyed aggregate demand and saw their economies stay in a negative cycle. Obama (for all his flaws) introduced a large stimulus package which kick-started the US economy.

Personally I am more in favour of direct infrastructure investment rather than quantitative easing but the economy recovered much better than under a Republican administration.
Everything i've said is well documented. the economic principals I mention are well established.
No. It really isn't.

You haven't even articulated an argument beyond left = evil, free-market = awesome and disagree = idiot. Have you ever even read any economics? There is no evidence in your post and you use no comparative examples. I'm not sure you actually even understand basic economic terminology.

For example; What is aggregate demand and how can it be relevant during a recovery?

This reminds me of Brexit.

Some of the poorest areas in our country voted for Brexit because they were disillusioned with the establishment. These were also areas which (with savage irony) recieved the most EU money. A lot of them are de-industrialised areas which badly needed EU investment that did not come from our national government.

Its Turkeys voting for Christmas and people being conned. Very sad.

I doubt anything is going to happen to Medicaid. It's Obamacare that's being repealed, not Medicaid.
@Carissimi: Ummm, Trump is threatening to cut Medicaid and repeal Obamacare. Kentucky has the highest use of welfare & Obamacare in the nation. They just voted to cut their lifeline off.

just a question: the problem of your country started 8 years ago or 16 years ago?

wow, you're really out of the loop eh?

so problems only exist 'recently'.

@Svarog: You don't find your dismissive attitude as a massive generalization?
