Why do some people think it's cool to get high?

driving a car is cool, but crashing isn't...

no. you're jumping off the cliff.. we're talking about getting high, and you're talking of drug addictions. I suppose prescription drugs aren't cool for people to take to relieve an illness.. since people can become addicted to them,

Ruthlala is correct. Driving is a necessity and therefore more worth the risk. Drugs are not a necessity.
