It's easier for Republicans to organize because they're basically a far-right white, suburban/rural predominantly Southern/lower Midwest fundamentalist Christian party. In other words, homogenous. Plus the nature of the Senate and the Electoral College gives them outsized power even though they're clearly the minority party.
The Democrats comprise moderates rightfully disgusted by the GOP all the the way to the far left. A lot more difficult to find consensus.
I know it's trendy to blame the Democratic Party, but it's really the structure of government - which makes the two party system inevitable - that hamstrings the opposition to the far right. The US would be a better place if we had a parliamentary system. And if the Senate was abolished. No upper house in the Western world has such veto power over legislation.
