Do the Republicans really think having Trump as Speaker of the house is a good idea?

Trump delegated his job as President to Jared so he could do rallies. Trump was the only President ever to start campaigning again in his first year in office. He went rouge many times, supporting Putin rather than all agencies that protect the US. What if Trump goes rouge as Speaker? How does he get the adulation he needs as Speaker? How does he keep his name in the Media as Speaker?

Republicans no longer have ideas. They do whatever the Leader tells them to.
@gfantasy They don't need the truth, they need a symbol, an idol. A lot of the base just wish they could lie and do whatever they want and never suffer any repercussions.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@gfantasy Republicans have been out of ideas for ages. All they have are moral bankruptcy, depravity and schoolyard taunts. Voter suppression, lies and gerrymandering are their only means to be elected.
@Crazywaterspring To get someone like Trump who was able to double down on decades of fear and lies was the only reason the party survived the last 4 years. The whole party was exhausted, none of the verbal diarrhea they were spewing made sense but then the base latched onto Dotard. One Of Us, One Of Us. The billionaire corporation, Trump Org, that was going to rid the government of corporate influence, Drain The Swamp, the billionaire who let 500,000 Americans die, One Of Us.

You seem to have a lot of questions about how Republicans do things.

You might want to consider a few questions regarding democrats who are fucking up royally since taking office.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Budwick Yes. The pandemic is fading away.
Kamala told the Spanish folks to not come over here.
And the unemployment rate ahs dropped yet again for like the 5th month in a row.
Yeah sure Mr Bud. 😂

@Zonuss
Kamala told the Spanish folks to not come
Check the details Sparky.
She was in Guatemala, not Spain.
And she told the president there not to cum as she was sucking him off.

Even better question is do Democrats think having Biden as president is a good idea. Kind of made a huge mess of things so far.
@hippyjoe1955 Mitch has almost completely stopped the Government from working at all. He has hundreds of Bills passed in Congress rotting under his desk. Mitch has obstructed any Bill that helps the people of the country for decades.

no, i sure as frick hope not. he's made too many enemies at that level, you'd think.
pentacorn · F
@Pitchblue they are fighting. the only reason you know about the skeevy things R's are doing is because there is a grassroots movement to fight these sorts of things. the movement against DJT was highly organized, and the R's knew it, and they voted in higher numbers than ever... and they still lost, thank fuck.
@pentacorn The Republicans never win the popular vote that's why they are making Voter Suppression Laws so they can hang on to Red States. The Dem's will need 2 to 1 votes to win in Red States.
pentacorn · F
@Pitchblue i know. and we can do it. Dem's are famous for becoming complacent due to the odds having been in our favor right before every election that ends in an R winning. we've all had the scare of our lives. these Republicans are not smarter than us, and we should be thanking them for showing their hand, because that's why the will continue to lose.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
No!! Trump thinks its a good idea, based on the theory that he isnt in power any more, but McConnell and McCarthy are.
But you asking the wrong question. Does anyone in power in the Republican Party have the b@ll$ to tell Trump to Ph*ck Off, before he destroys the party and sends it into the wilderness for 20 years?
Carla · 61-69, F
@whowasthatmaskedman no. Not a one of them.
@whowasthatmaskedman Lets ask Mo. Oh No, Mo is in hiding. I guess Mo was afraid to explain his speech on Jan 6th. He had Balls on the 6th but not so much anymore.
Graylight · 51-55, F
Did you hear him speak at his latest rally? It was like watching Roy try to stand with Siegfried after the accident.
@Graylight He hit all the catchphrases. Mumble mumble, Stole the election, mumble mumble, Horrible People, etc.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
He won’t be speaker.
Well, they thought making him President was a good idea.

It's hard to say this would be anymore idiotic and destructive.
@MistyCee Stop all Bills that don't give money to Republican Donors and Friends before they even get to Senate.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
There is NO way he'd go for it, he's a total narcissist and HAS to be #1, there's no way he'd go for only being Speaker after having been President. 🙃
tindrummer · M
He would get a lot more press as speaker than he's getting now.
@tindrummer That's Trump's biggest concern, being on Twitter and Rightwing TV. Getting the boot from Twitter was the worst thing that ever happened to Trump, he's still grieving.
tindrummer · M
@Pitchblue I pretty much agree but as speaker even legitimate mainstream media would have to cover him and he would love the attention AND be even more dangerous.
@tindrummer Dangerous decisions gets Likes in the GQP.
Rose0415 · 31-35, F
Republicans are sheep, plain and simple.
@Rose0415 They have a history of voting against their own interests. They have been voting for slogans and getting nothing. They won the right to hate Liberals.
Carla · 61-69, F
Probably.
If trump thinks so.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
It will be at their own demise.
@Pitchblue IF he could get elected, I suppose that could be a problem, but his neighbors don't seem to like him, and I don't see him getting votes door to door.

Honestly, there's no way I think his ego could take it, and he's supremely unfit for the job, but I can see where, in the long run, some Republicans might be relieved at him screwing up and being able to get rid of him.

Obviously, it would be bad for the country, but that hasn't seemed to factor into their analysis much.
@MistyCee All candidates for speaker must be nominated by members of the House, but they don’t need to be elected lawmakers of the House. The Republicans can nominate him specifically to fuck with all Democrat Bills. They don't care about the country or the people, they just want the power. The second they are in power again they will be giving money and power to the rich and the corporations again.
@Pitchblue Huh?

This one's new to me. The speaker can be Joe blow off the street and not have been elected to Congress?

Keeping up with all the norms and traditions that these "conservatives" seem willing to do away with to "own the libs," serve Trump, and maintain power at any cost is exhausting.

I'm glad I have a day job.
