Why do conservatives think they have to lie to get votes?
If their platform is not attractive enough on its own merit, why not adjust the platform rather than lie?

Right now, it is clear that power trumps truth.
Mitch is salivating for control, and he & Lindsey and others have realized that standing up for the truth is not in their short-term interests, though it would strengthen the current [i]de facto[/i] party of conservatives.
They also realize that they are a minority party, and only by screwing with access to voting, keeping the Electoral College, etc., can they maintain a pretense of power.
