I believe if there was more competitive parties it would be quite helpful as they would actually be forced to work together, instead of this all or nothing bullcrap we got going on right now...
Where I feel like both parties are working together, to keep the two party system in full force and both parties are trying to stop politicians from being individuals, and simply get in line with the rest of the party.
This is also hurtful because it means that any politician that is willing to ignore the parties (such as Democrat Ilhan Omar and Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene) automatically stand out and get praised for being different dispute both arguably saying some absolutely ridiculous things. The parties sometimes let them hang out to dry.
But they get a ton of money, since they're different and unique and not simply following the party line.
Though I feel like if everyone was able to be more individuals, then the ridiculous individual wouldn't be getting so much praise, and would actually get punished for their ridiculous instead of rewarded.
